I think 'The Nights' is quite similar to 'Wake Me Up' and 'Hey Brother', which likely explains why it's proving to be popular.

It's also on the Fifa 15 Soundtrack (excuse the repetition) which might be attracting a few buyers if they recognise it from the game. In some (very loose) respect, it's sort of like a held back release as lots of people might already know the track, even though it hasn't been promoted by being played on the radio.

The Nights is a lot weaker than The Days for me, the former is just a recycled version of 'Wake Me Up' but nowhere near as good. Still an ok song but at least The Days provided something new and I really liked it!
The success of 'The Nights' is very odd, it doesn't seem to have much more going for it than 'The Days' ever did. Did people really just hate 'The Days' en masse?

Well i'd assume Avicii still has a pretty big fanbase, so it's quite conceivable 'The Nights' (which has been around for a little while now tbf, so it's essentially a held-back release) would reach the itunes top 10 on a completely empty week~

It's crazy to see the Prodigy in the chart again after so many years! I remember 'Omen' was released around the time I properly started to post on here. A whole six years ago! :o

Anyway, shame Sia keeps missing out on a top 10 position. Great to see Hozier at #3 though! It'd be a miracle if it somehow snatched the #1 spot one week.

 10. Avicii - The Nights

f*ck yah  :cheer:

IT IS INDEED VERY ODD (to you guys at least ;))

I like The Days as well but it is a fairly weak track. I saw what Tim was trying to do but a flop is a flop

And tbh the vocals seemed to ROB the track more than the production

Maybe it would have done the same with a release :kink:

I've only heard 'The Nights' twice, but it sounds like pretty much the same song as 'The Days' to me?

There's nothing particularly different about it, it's like they were created with an identical template.

I wish Avicii would doing something different. All his last few tracks sound like rehashes of his bigger hits :( plus Sia deserves to be top 10 as that's the far superior song too.

I highly doubt it, considering it barely ever touched the top 1,000 on pre-orders. Even songs that miss the top 40 can usually manage that.

NO :nono:

But that's precisely what he did with The Days and look where that got him :drama:

He already 'did something different' when he transformed his 'Levels' style to the Wake Me Up etc. style.

Avicii = 3 i's in name = Illuminati = :o

I'm shocked that you're such a fan!

They don't call him SPINUMINATI ADAM for nothing! :o

He's my SECOND FAVOURITE ARTIST duh :D

Also the upside down v makes a triangle ;)

Or the A is a triangle anyway

Who calls me that? I am illuminatrix whether you call me Dave or John. That's just my fate. Anyway before Breeze locks this for conspiracies or Martin has another go I better shut up and put something on topic in this post which is:

I hope and wonder The Nights makes top 5 on iTunes before Sunday and it reaches top 40 tomorrow and top 30 on Sunday :cheer:

Quite sad to see Avicii get top 10 before Sia. Thankfully Sia should go top 10 on iTunes following Fall Out Boy falling out.

17. Jeremih Feat YG - Don't Tell Em

22. Clean Bandit Feat Jess Glynne - Real Love

30. Rae Morris - Under The Shadows [59p is helping this song remain stable]

45. Fuse ODG Feat Killbeatz - Thinking About U

63. Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do [Gonna be massive]

74. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

80. Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin [should peak at #02 but starting to think possibly #03]

100. Fergie - L.A.Love (La La)

431. ows - Waterline (feat. Pusha T)

Really want this to blow up at some point. Didn't think Oritse would be the one to bring the musical goodness out of the guys from JLS! (It's very Miguel/Nick Jonas)

We Own It by 2 Chainz could get a small boost after the exposure he gets from this video.
