January 29, 201510 yr I think Rick's 40 this year - Tim and Mark are the same age as me. So still a couple years short of 40 :drama:
January 30, 201510 yr I had no idea Ash were that young! 'Girl From Mars' is one of my favourite songs of all-time That's a great song. I saw them several times in their early years and it was hard to believe they were so young.
January 30, 201510 yr Let me see if I understood this properly. For example Rihanna will be counted until 2008 then?
January 30, 201510 yr How the hell did Avril go from not outstanding but a pretty decent standard of songwriting at 16-18, to crap like 'Hello Kitty' by the time she's 30? Rock N Roll is the only decent thing she's done since 2005.
January 30, 201510 yr So still a couple years short of 40 :drama: Aye, but it's creeping up. What's most interesting about Ash is that they recorded pretty much all their good songs while teenagers. While still at school really. 'Kung Fu' is my favourite by them but also love 'Jack Names the Planets', 'Angel Interceptor', 'Girl From Mars' and 'Goldfinger'. It kinda all went downhill from 'Oh Yeah' onwards I thought.
January 30, 201510 yr Author 68. OLIVER HELDENS (526,000) 2 HITS http://www.earmilk.com/thumbs/post/595x283/oliver-heldens-2.png “Gecko” was the song that not only gave him his chart birth but also brought him to the attention of Tiesto who promptly signed him. The song was released as an instrumental in January 2014 on the continent becoming a minor hit but when the vocals of former “The Voice” contestant Becky Hill were added and the track retitled “Gecko (Overdrive)” it became an even bigger hit topping the UK charts back in July last year. kcZMCMI24gs
January 30, 201510 yr Author 67.HOLLY VALANCE (537,000) 3 HITS http://resources3.news.com.au/images/2009/11/23/1225802/584655-789171-holly-valance-6752688-jpg.jpg Signing up for “Neighbours” at 16 Valance left behind “Felicity “Flick” Skully” in 2002 to attempt chart domination and recorded a cover of Tarkan's "Şımarık" which had been a hit in Europe in 1997 though it didn’t nothing here. A risque video and some FHM shoots and she debuted at No 1 in 2002 though when the second album tanked she left the music business and returned to TV and Film where she still pops up. QaTojCUF6iM
January 30, 201510 yr Author 66. MARTIN GARRIX (554,000) 4 HITS http://mediamass.net/jdd/public/documents/celebrities/6025.jpg Still a mere 18 yrs old there’s plenty of time for Garrix to add to his total here though he appears to have stalled slightly after the magnificence of debut “Animals” which topped the charts in 2013 with his follow up “Wizard” making No 7 with just 4 weeks of chart life to its credit. Apparently he wanted to be a DJ since the age of 8, I think I wanted to be a transformer at that age.....time flies. KnL2RJZTdA4
January 30, 201510 yr As will often be said around here Holly V's second album was ahead of it's time. At a time when electroclash was cool she (or her minders) attempted to bring it mainstream.
January 30, 201510 yr I legit never knew Kiss Kiss was a reworking/cover (guess that's why I love these threads) :o Always really liked that though, vaguely remember it from my childhood.
January 30, 201510 yr As will often be said around here Holly V's second album was ahead of it's time. At a time when electroclash was cool she (or her minders) attempted to bring it mainstream. Indeed... I don't think it's as great as it's sometimes made out to be but it's a strong album with much more than the usual two singles and much filler.
January 30, 201510 yr I didn't know Gabriella Cilmi was that young! Understandable as her music was leagues ahead of her age tbf. Both in terms of her vocals and lyrics. I really miss her. Her singles were mostly all fabulous and there were gems scattered across the two albums too. Here's hoping she returns soon. Also agree with the commentary Gezza. 'Warm This Winter' should be a top 40 staple every December <3
January 30, 201510 yr Author The thread will take a rest until Monday folks as I'm away for the weekend!

February 1, 201510 yr Indeed... I don't think it's as great as it's sometimes made out to be but it's a strong album with much more than the usual two singles and much filler. Tongue Tied and Desire were good. It's at least as good as Fischerspooner's album :D
February 2, 201510 yr As will often be said around here Holly V's second album was ahead of it's time. At a time when electroclash was cool she (or her minders) attempted to bring it mainstream. True, I remember buying the State of Mind single as it had a remix by Felix Da Housecat (I think).
February 2, 201510 yr I too want Cilmi back. It's been too long since she last hit the top 40. Such a gorgeous voice she has and she's quite the looker too
