I've just watched the Q&As with Dominic and he seems positive about how things will be panning out so I trust that any disappointment from the reveal will be eradicated. Tomorrow's episode will involve lots of tissues so be aware of an emotional half an hour!

I am certain the live ep will go right from Ian saying "I want to know everything that happened" - he probably still thinks it's Jane.

And then she'll tell him (and finally us :kink:) what happened with moving the body

It be interesting to see what Jane is going to tell Ian tomorrow, will she tell him that Bobby did it or she did it, and where their marriage will go from here

Dominic Treadwell-Collins aka the executive producer on the reveal:

He replied: "There was one other suspect for about a day, but then it didn't feel right. We always said that this story had to come from the heart, and with this, it's the start of a whole big new story for the Beales.

"We kept on going on about [2003 novel] We Need to Talk About Kevin - we need to talk about Bobby! So actually this is the beginning of an even bigger story for the Beales. We've got to keep going!"

Treadwell-Collins confirmed that young actor Eliot Carrington, who plays Bobby, was made aware of his character's guilt on Monday evening (February 16) before the BBC soap's Live Week began.

Carrington responded positively to the twist, pointing out that it was natural for Bobby's adoptive mother Jane to cover for him.

Treadwell-Collins said: "Most people didn't know. We had to keep it quiet because things leak. We always say that if someone tells you a secret, you always tell one person. I always tell one person! We couldn't afford that.

"We told [Eliot] on Monday. We told his dad before that obviously and checked that it was okay, but we knew that it was always going to be Bobby. But when we told him... he's so clever, Eliot! He said, 'Oh God, that makes sense. Of course Jane had to do it because otherwise Bobby would go to juvey'. He's a clever little boy!"

Treadwell-Collins also revealed that EastEnders' story producer Alex Lamb was the first person to suggest that the culprit should be Bobby.

"My idea was Jane and then Cindy," he explained. "And then Alex Lamb said Bobby. We were at story conference and we went up to my hotel room - [series producer] Sharon [batten], Alex Lamb, [script producer] Manpreet Dosanjh and I.

"We sat there and came up with it and we jumped up and down! If you look at the pieces now, Jane took Bobby away! We cleverly, I hope, seeded everything."

I think Bobbys going to turn out to be some devil child

He should've stuck with Jane then Cindy. It would've been a more believable outcome.
I guess Bobby being REALLY messed up is a good big storyline but I'd still rather it was a competent actor like Mimi Keene.

I'm in two minds about this now...

All that hype and it turns out to be Bobby...as has been said this could lead to some interesting storylines and the effects on the characters involved but at the same time I do still feel a bit cheated as I really thought it would be Jane

Both episodes were great but that ending just felt like an anti climax (especially as we've already had 'good child gone bad' stories such as those with Ben) so I'll judge it after tomorrow's show.

we're gonna have another dotty cotton on our hands aren't we

 dying.

I've come around to Bobby being the killer. I remember it was said that the outcome would be more sad than shocking and I can't think of anything more sad. Fact of the matter is Lucy died for no reason even though everyone concerned was sure there'd be a nasty, selfish killer out there. Please can we get some Laura Beale mentions now?

Next season of Orange is the New Black :heehee:

Same, I think we could be looking at a few dark and emotional scenes coming up - just what EE should be about!

Oh I love this: someone screamed so loudly at the reveal of Lucy's killer that their neighbours called the police!! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/fun/s2/eastend...~p4Ppk9Jz5T8ktV

Ha! That's the funniest thing I've seen for a long time!!!!

22 July 2003

9 year old Lucy Beale didn't know it at the time but this was a day that would change her life forever........

Eliot Carrington is the luckiest actor in Britain at the moment, he is the 4th different person to play the role of Bobby and he is the one who will become most well-known now. I can see him and the character of Bobby moving to the forefront of EastEnders now, a potential legendary character in the making as he grows older and becomes a teenager and a young adult.

It's so annoying seeing people say "people would have been unhappy with the reveal regardless" because that's really not the case. People are unhappy with Bobby being the killer because they think it makes a mockery of the storyline and the show. Just hopefully opinions will change with the aftermath.

I wonder if there's a reason Bobby was re-casted - perhaps the previous one and his family didn't agree to the idea of him being the killer?

So since September 2013 I have watched a total of about 10 episodes (the lead-up to and aftermath of Lucy's death and a random episode two weeks or so ago where Lauren discovered a piece of yellow paper) and I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed all four episodes thus far this week. Thursday's hour-long episode was obviously the highlight but it's been a very clever set of episodes with some very emotional scenes in all episodes and great acting from the actors, particularly those appearing in live scenes. It's difficult to pin a 'favourite moment' but I guess it would be Ian, Sharon, Stacey et. al gathering together to support Dot in her hour of need, only for her be taken away in a police car anyway. I really hope that's not the last we see of Dot as she's been essential since forever.

The brief reappearances of Tanya and Peggy were very unnecessary, as nice as it was to see the characters, particularly with the former's iconic "Who's Adam?" ruining her moment. I'm looking forward to the reintroductions of Martin and Kathy though as they were both before my time as a regular viewer, especially if it means the cutest couple STACIN happen.

Also, RE: Lucy's killer, Bobby did seem a disappointing reveal at the time but I trust that the showrunners know what they're doing with it. I didn't realise the scene with Jane, Bobby and Lucy was live though so kudos to Eliot Carrington!
