I don't like the way they edited Martina (Dragonette)'s vocal in 'Outlines' to the point where they sanded away all the character and charm her voice normally has. :( Plus it is a very generic track.

Can't really complain with two massive long running #1s this year :D since we had so many 1 weekers last year :drama: and she's nearly twice Uptown Funk's bar!

No doubt she gets #1 this week, and probably for 3 weeks :cheer:

Also hoping Outlines gets a deserved top 10 :D although if it's weak on streaming then a top 10 on sales only will suffice :)

Yeah Years & Years could very much do what Bastille did (where first single charts mid-range then disappears quickly (Flaws) but second major release peaks very highly and hangs around (Pompeii) but maybe without such the mega longevity?)

That's a good comparison actually! I can definitely see King doing a Pompeii but peaking higher, with less good longevity (but still good, it's just hard for any song to do as well as Pompeii in terms of longevity really :lol:)

I do wish Spinnin' were releasing it instead of MoS -_- Mainly because MoS have a habit of changing the original track for its release, which they have done for Outlines (there's been more changes done to the extended mix but even in the radio edit there seems to be another vocal singing the word 'outlines'). Much prefer the spinnin' version of Outlines anyway which isn't available on iTunes.

 

They did the same with 'Promesses' but I do like the added vocal on that so they sometimes get it right :lol:
