The move ends Joshua's deal with Sky Sports, which has been in place throughout his professional career.

The streaming and TV rights for the Indian Premier League, the world's richest cricket competition, have been sold for a record $6.02bn (£5.13bn).

Disney-owned Star India retained the TV rights for the next five years for $3.05bn (£2.53bn).

The two deals combined are more than double the $2.4bn Star paid for the previous five seasons of the IPL.

The winning bid for the TV rights - a period that incorporates 410 IPL matches - were sold for about $7.36m (£6.1m) per game.

The BBC will show Champions League highlights on Wed nights from 2024.

Amazon to have first pick of live games on Tuesdays, BT Sport retains all other live rights. Deals will see 2024-27 rights earn UEFA £1.4billion up 15% on existing deals.

BBC will show highlights of the Champions League from the 2024-25 season. This is good news, it never should have been completely taken away from terrestrial TV imo.

The men's Champions League is to be broadcast on BBC TV for the first time from the 2024-25 season.

Highlights will be shown from 22:00 on the Wednesday of match weeks on BBC TV, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app, with clips for online and social media also available.

The three-year deal includes the final, with highlights rights to be confirmed.

The way that's written makes it sound like the BBC would be showing the final, but they haven't currently got the rights to the highlights.

Marcus Stead (authoritative snooker journalist who writes for Snooker Scene magazine) has just stated (on TalkSport) that snooker is returning to the main ITV channel for the first time in 21 years.

Further confirmation, as discussed on various threads quite a few times now, that sport is becoming increasingly important to terrestrial TV.

Of course snooker has been on ITV4 regularly for many years - but ITV has now decided it's worth showing it on the main ITV channel.

The event will be a new one - the World Mixed Doubles Championship.

No further details were given - so don't know how much will be on ITV and how much (if any) will be on ITV4.
