March 18, 201510 yr Nice seeing "In The Middle" so high! But let's be honest, when 1D got out first, so did Buzzjack's taste.
March 18, 201510 yr Author I'm surprised both finished as high but I'm guessing both benefited from not being rated by everybody. Girls Aloud have the most singles left in the rate by having one ahead of The Saturdays and two ahead of Sugababes who are dropping songs left right and center.
March 18, 201510 yr Lee, 'In The Middle' only peaked at #8 (I also, personally wouldn't say it was one of their signature tracks, but that might just be me :kink:). I liked ITM at the time, although looking back it's just a nice little pop number, that's it really. Not sure it deserved top 30, but eh, there could be worse songs. 'Overload', although I appreciate how different it was at the time, I'm not into serious and moody pop songs as much as I am the joyous, outright pop singles. On merit it probably deserves this position, but for my own personal ranking, far too high.
March 18, 201510 yr Author 27. Sugababes - Ugly (Average Rating 7.98) 28. Girls Aloud - No Good Advice (Average Rating 7.97) Finishing at #28 is Girls Aloud 'No Good Advice' which just falls short of an average rating of 8. 'No Good Advice' peaked at #02 in the UK charts (right Jonjo?) and smashed at #88 in the Australian charts. 'No Good Advice' finishing at #28 was a major shock as I expected it to quite easily finish in the top 20. 'No Good Advice' managed eight 10's but the -1 proved to be costly and a deciding factor as to why 'Good Advice' missed the top 25. If I'm ugly then so are you. 'Ugly' was one of the songs that made me realise that Sugababes were actually half decent, can we all remember how beautiful Mutya child in this is though? 'Ugly' smashed worldwide managing to peak top 15 in Australia, Top 5 in Denmark, Top 5 in New Zealand and #3 in the United Kingdom. I'm surprised that 'Ugly' missed the top 20 if I'm being honest as it such an iconic Sugababes track. 'Ugly' managed seven 10's and one 11. That's all songs now at an average of 8 and The Saturdays and Girls Aloud have the same amount of songs left now :o 4nD2vZfdzGg
March 18, 201510 yr Ugly is very underrated I think! This position seems about right for it though tbh. No Good Advice is actually one of my least fave GA singles (still amazing though of course).
March 18, 201510 yr 'In The Middle' is an absolute BANGER, my second fave Sugas song *.* 'Red Dress' also a TUNE. Two quite big losses there too, 'No Good Advice' is so nostalgic for moi and was so innovative for a girl-group, still sounds fab. The electric guitar usage also *.*
March 18, 201510 yr Ugly is definitely one of my fave Sugababes songs, I feel it gets too much hate. No Good Advice is probably in the middle of GA's singles for me but it's very very good!
March 18, 201510 yr Ugly is overrated and definitely didn't deserve to be this high, but at least it's out now. I'm not sure I can dignify the fact that it's above No Good Advice with a polite response. ^_^
March 18, 201510 yr Author 25. The Saturdays - Not Giving Up (Average Rating 8.1) 26. Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Oooh (Average Rating 8.02) This surprised me more than anything. 'Something Kinda Ooooh' I felt was going to easily be top 10 and a contender after the first 10 votes. [10-10-9-11-10-7-10-7-10-11-9-10-10-10]. Poor 'Something Kinda Ooooh"' only managed to peak at #03 in the UK charts. 'Something kinda Ooooh' managed 11 10's and two 11's which is incredibly impressive. 'Something Kinda Oooh' is only 0.2% behind the top 20 that's how close the following songs are. Got me on overload, i'll be your rock of gold can we get overdosed on love? Princess Frankie knows the script and she knew from the off go that 'Not Giving Up' was a single that deserved to be realeased. Poor Rochelle , Una and Vanessa supporting 'Leave A Light On' which would have been an #01 smash tbh. 'Not Giving Up' failed to enter the airplay chart and was only played by Marvin on Capital as well as being their first song being snubbed by radio 1. I always find it upsetting that had 'Not Giving Up' been released instead of 'Gentleman' The Saturdays would still be releasing pop classics as 'Not Giving Up' would have smashed on airplay following 'What About Us'. 'Not Giving Up' peaked at #19 in the UK Charts despite managing to be top 10 in the midweeks (smash). 'Not Giving Up' managed 12 10's, two 11's and somehow was rated -1 by a really really shit poster. gBoXld4URfk
March 18, 201510 yr I'm just amused how these two tracks managed to beat such legendary songs such as 'The Loving Kind' and 'My Heart Takes Over'. That's a joke right? 'The Loving Kind' fair enough but how do you call 'My Heart Takes Over' legendary when it's just not, and I love the song! This rate is difficult to follow with comments like these
March 18, 201510 yr What the actual Eff. SKO is a pop jam and a half! I really am disappointed by it's performance here. It should have been an easy top 10 victory. :( 'Not Giving Up' is the song that's "good, but overrated by fans" in The Saturdays' back catalogue for me (similar to 'No Good Advice'/'Round Round'). I remember being obsessed with 'Ugly' at the time of release. It's such a good pop song! Probably in about it's rightful place in the countdown though tbh.
March 18, 201510 yr 'Not Giving Up' is good but nothing spectacular. It's similar to 'Salute' imo, in the sense that it would've fared a hell of a lot better chart-wise if it was released as the second single, rather than post-album (although obviously 'Salute' did do quite decently regardless). I'm glad Little Mix still have their 3 remaining, but I imagine they'll all be out quite soon. Hoping 'Move' is their highest, but I imagine 'DNA' will get that honour, since it seems to be held in much higher regard here (it's actually probably my least favourite of their singles, bar 'Little Me' and 'Cannonball').
