bought firestone last year. beautiful song, been forever wishing kygo success.

I really don't get the mass love for 'Firestone' either, it just sounds like a weak attempt at an Avicii song (back before that phrase referred to terrible folk/country infused generic shite).

From what I've seen about it, this song sounds like an Avicii track, so I don't really feel the need to listen to it. I guess sometimes you don't need to hear a song to know what it sounds like, which can lead to misguided assumptions everybody is guilty of!

 

In this case, that doesn't apply. For a song to appeal to a majority of people here it must be fairly "pop".

It does have a pop-like element to it. It's also not an in-your-face kind of track which could be a factor...

It's not "faceless dance" just yet. It's sounds and feels completely fresh to what else is out there atm! In fact, this Tropical House phase can't come much quicker for me. I'm READY for it to be the leading dance sound!

Exactly, it's different to the countless house songs (I know there are a few different types of dance genres but they seem to largely be house). Hopefully tropical house can be the new deep house. Kygo's remixes are wonderemind and fresh! From the various Remixes I've heard, tropical house invigorates so many otherwise pretty crap or dull songs (although I do seem to love the originals of most songs that Kygo rmixes :lol:).
