Love this Calvin/Haim track

GRL surely can't still be to come?

GRL were #38 in the last midweeks I think so they've definitely missed the top 40

Very happy to see this in the top 40; Calvin's best in ages
Will Haim ever have that big chart hit?

No, but their chart presence mostly lies with the album chart- one #1 album out of one :smoke:

Indeed, but only due to the OCC's inconsistencies.

I think Liam had a good answer that I can believe too why they weren't combined.

It could be because the John Legend version is being treated as a single rather than a remix (like the A$AP Rocky feature on 'I'm Not the Only One') or because profits from the original version won't be going to Comic Relief whereas the John Legend version will.

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Will Haim ever have that big chart hit?

I'm hopeful that one day, they'll have one as there's definitely interest in them. But they'd need to sell out their current sound pretty much, which I'd rather they didn't.

The first of FIVE Sam Smith monstrosities in the chart! :manson:

'Insipid Tedium Ad Infinitum II' :puke:

I think Liam had a good answer that I can believe too why they weren't combined.

What they usually do with new versions that are 'singles rather than remixes' is change the chart credit to the new artists but still combine their sales. Though they never did this with, for example, The Vamps' last two singles so God knows what their rules are supposed to be...

If this is the case, his record company should of made the album version of 'Lay Me Down' Album Only, to encourage people to download the comic relief version instead of the album version.

Oh dear Stay With Me is back ahead of this, possibly Like I Can as well.

Edit: Oh wait it already was :P

I think it's rather the second part of the answer right, so some money of the song with John Legend goes to charity whilst not from the original one.

I still think the different versions should be combined purely because it's the same song by the same artist. It doesn't really make sense otherwise, purely for having to listen to it twice if nothing else... I do like Sam Smith but really getting sick of him quickly now
