The first trailer is out for New Top Gear...

 

 

The comments section is pretty much 100% negative and there's a HUGE amount of dislikes compared to likes. The BBC is going to have a task getting people to like this, it seems.

What have they done to this?

It's pretty much exactly the same isn't it?

 

Granted Chris & Matt aren't as well polished as the old guys used to be but they need chance to settle in.

 

 

Edit... Matt in particular seems out of place.

So I made it to the end... Matt improved no end in the second half of the show, especially in his section on the off road car and in the final battle. The Chris only hosted bits were a bit cringe in places, especially in the 'Two stars in an off road Mini' section which I really didn't think worked that well at all.

I absolutely adore Sabine, i named my car after the woman after all, but I can't bring myself to watch this. I think Friends is ridiculously overrated (it's shit) and Matt Leblanc especially is woeful but worst of all is Chris Evans. Probably the worst non-politician to force his presence on our tv screens ever. Without him i'd have given this a go, but I can't support that twat.

4.4 million viewers watched the revamp according to the overnight figures.

 

 

I thought it was actually quite good, Chris Evans didn't reinvent the wheel (most of the usual features continued as normal) and although LeBlanc was a little stilted at times - it sort of worked.

I didn't enjoy it :( Such a shame!

Matt LeBlanc was sooo wooden

It wasn't a patch on the original format however it wasn't as bad as people are saying it to be. I was really hoping for it to be good though, such a shame that it isn't the hit it was anymore (even though it was inevitable that it wouldn't be as good or anywhere near as popular as the last format.)

Matt was good on the films and awkward in the studio.

 

Extra Gear was good, the presenters had a bit of rapport and it'd be good to see them more in the main show. It's not going to work with just the two of them.

I actually really enjoyed it, I've found the show to be a bit (a lot) stale and by numbers for a few years now, so I really found it quite refreshing! Granted, it will take a while for most to get used to the cast, I'm sure. I loved Sabine's section, and thought it was all a bit cheery and lighthearted!

I watched this last night, it actually wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but i did find it quite boring.

So far this is much better this week - although that is partly down to the features being better.

 

A slight improvement, but still missing the old magic.

 

Unsurprisingly down to just 2.8m viewers in the ratings last night.

Apparently Matt Le Blanc will quit if Chris Evans isn't sacked! This is something I support :lol: Chris Evans is by far the weak link of this show. Matt Le Blanc and Sabine are quite good together. Add a third person who works well with them and they might be back in business with this show!

Evans has gone. Just resigned. Good riddance.

I'd personally love a Matt LeBlanc, Sabine Scmitz and Jenson Button team of anchors. Obviously Jenson is still hooked with F1 so won't be doing it full-time any time soon, but I really enjoyed his segment a few weeks ago!

 

Rory Reid and Chris Harris are great too, they should definitely continue to do weekly segments. As much as I like Eddie Jordan, he just doesn't have the right personality for Top Gear, I really don't think the uncool grandad thing works! Chris Evans going is GREAT though. :D

Matt LeBlanc has signed a two year deal and so will stay on as co-host. It appears that Chris and Rory will be the other co-hosts, with Sabine and Eddie making regular appearances.
