Wales are almost there. If they beat Israel on Sunday, they will qualify.

Iceland need only one point to qualify for a major tournament for the first time ever.

Northern Ireland should make it if the win against the Faroes tomorrow and Hungary 3 days later. And if the Republic get knocked out, we could see a reversal of what's happened in national football for the past 30 years and see players bord in ROI suddenly deciding to switch their allegiance to the North.

:D Really loving them right now. I shall have to majorly root for them in the tournament.

Poor Dutch though, this has been utterly embarrassing for them. Though I'm not too sorry as tonight won me a fiver.

Is this your first post on football? :o

It's a shame that Ryan Giggs possibly the best Welsh footballer of all time didn't get to play in a major tournament during his career.

Really hoping that Iceland can make Euro 2016. It will be good to see a new country in the tournament. And also Wales if they beat Israel.

I think I might have posted once during Euro 2012, but apart from that, yes. My knowledge of football spands from the mid 90s through to Muzzy Izzet leaving Leicester City in 2004. I still like to keep up to date with international football, in the hope that one of the two Irelands (or other Home Nations) do well.

Imagine the scenario:

Wales beat Israel

Cyprus beat Belgium

Germany fail to get 6 points off Poland/Scotland.

If that happens then Wales would move to 2nd in the FIFA Rankings behind Argentina!

That's frightening to think, Gage. Although it would be a remarkable rise up the rankings for them. It still is a great achievement at their ranking now. Hoping Wales qualify and for the legacy of the late Gary Speed.

Should be three victories for the home nations tonight.

And Scotland's chances have taken quite a dent with a 1-0 defeat to Georgia. Did anyone see the game?

Northern Ireland now top of their group. 1 point from the final 3 games guarantees them a playoff place at least, and 1 win will secure them an automatic spot. It's happening...
Euro 2016 will possibly be the best Euro tournament of all time with so many new teams looking to take part and also the number of teams participating will be increased from 16 to 24.

Hopefully not as a Belfast man with a Ireland season ticket. Fair play to Michael ONeill though clearly a great manager!

Looks like Ireland and Scotland will be back to fighting for a play off place. Which will probably see them draw The Netherlands.

It's hope there are no pitch invasions if Wales beat Israel tonight as UEFA don't take kindly to these invasions and Wales could be punished for it.

I think there will be a pitch invasion if Wales win. I will be really happy for them if they can do it, and hopefully Northern Ireland will qualify as well.

It's a shame that Wales didn't get the victory over Israel but I'm sure that they will qualify anyway even if Belgium win tonight against Cyprus.

Wow Holland lost 3-0 against Turkey and now they are 4th in their table 8 points behind a play-off spot.

Disappointing result for Scotland against Georgia.

I'm guessing Scotland will take 6 points out of the remaining 9 which should get them a play off place and it wouldn't surprise me if Holland never even managed a play off place.
