March 26, 20169 yr I'll keep half an eye on it but these pointless internationals getting in the way of the Premier League
March 26, 20169 yr Yeah, I'm quite looking forward to it - will be interesting to see just how England shape up against the big guns.
March 26, 20169 yr Pointless internationals I agree!! For what it's worth, I think we will get beat tonight. The team put out is seriously weak, and lacks experience. It won't be a pasting as I expect Germany to play at half the tempo. Only 5 players starting tonight have played in the Champions League.
March 26, 20169 yr I quite like the look of our team tonight, it looks balanced and I'd be quite confident if we went into the first group game with that XI. Still, like Rooney said it shows how little experience most of our best players still have.
March 26, 20169 yr It's quite well explained here, that essentially between the 'Golden Generation' and the current set of decent younger players we produced very little of any quality. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/team/england/448/b...-new-generation

Still, like Rooney said it shows how little experience most of our best players still have. Yeah I think there's a lot of potential, but it's very telling when the majority of the squad is full of players at Liverpool/Spurs. We can big ourselves up, but as shown against better teams recently we pale in comparison. But yeah agree with that ESPN article, there's a massive loss of experienced players between 27-31. Rooney/Hart/Cahill aside, I can't think of anyone else.
March 26, 20169 yr BUMP Anybody going to be watching Germany v England tonight? I might watch it. I'm glad that there wont be any more international breaks after this week until the club football season ends, the only time watching England is exciting is when the actual World Cup/Euros tournament is going on.
March 26, 20169 yr The HYPE there'll be after this performance! Guaranteed Rooney will start in the summer and we won't play as well.
March 26, 20169 yr Great match, and coming back from 2-0, 3 excellent goals, could have been 4 if Dalli found the net :(
March 26, 20169 yr Very good performance. There was a danger early in the second half that we were going to lose concentration and get picked off (as Germany themselves might have done against Spain six or seven years ago) but Kane's goal came at the perfect time and from then we were on top. Credit to Roy for not going overboard with the substitutions as well.
March 26, 20169 yr That's the best I've seen England play for ages. We knew how to press properly, guess that's an advantage when the majority of your players play in a pressing style day to say. Saying that, no point getting carried away. Our defence is way too poor. Never mind big teams, I'm sure some 'average' sides will have joys against our centre-backs!
March 26, 20169 yr We were so poor tonight, but even then having won the world cup so recently seeing off England should not have been a difficult task as let's be honest here - England are mediocre at best (with an ego that makes Brazil's look microscopic). Far too many below par players on the pitch tonight for us. We seriously need to sort our team out for the Euros.
March 27, 20169 yr I wrote the match off, I kind of wish I watched it all the way through instead of just watching the 2nd half. England did well to come back from 2-0 down to win and the goals from Kane and Vardy were very good but I don't think it's a reason to get excited for England's Euro 2016 chances.
March 27, 20169 yr There's reasons to be optimistic, which we may have speculated about before last night but look a little less fanciful now. The pressing is one, and the fact that we have genuine options up front - Vardy is clearly full of confidence and will be a great option. I wonder when the last time was that we could potentially replace one of the Premier League's top two scorers with the other during a game.
March 27, 20169 yr As good as last night was and as good as some of these England players could potentially be, I still think we'll end up watching 180 minutes of Rooney inspired draws against Russia and Wales. I'd happily just take the original squad Roy named for these games, really. Just dispense of either Theo or Walker. Ignore half-fit or unfit Rooney, Chamberlain, Shaw, Delph and Wilshere.

You just know Rooney will be starting behind Kane in the #10 role, which means one of either Lallana/Ali will miss out.
March 27, 20169 yr I agree Rooney will start, but at the World Cup he started on the left to accommodate Sterling. Can see the same happening again to make room for Alli. No way Alli won't start.
