Random jump for Baz Luhrmann, Epic song which still sounds great - Surely a R1 play wouldn't send it so high? It usually charts in the 50s and 60s when the film it's in is on TV or its 59p.

Yeah, but it was played on Radio 2 this time - and on the breakfast show too which gets mega listeners.

Me :kink: (well I've bought 2 in 5 years so not really tbh )

Well you know there's many ways you can get videos off YouTube for free :P (unless buying the videos helps the sales but I wouldn't know as I've never bought a video :P)

Judging from those pre-orders, Robin Thicke will soon be back in the charts. :cheer:
And to think that he would never get one again after what happened to "Blurred Lines"...

Flo Rida ha career saver

Incredible result that a R2 play on a key show can send a 16 year old song back into the iTunes Top 25! The power of radio.

I am well and truly buckled up if there's the slightest chance that Queen Taylor is going to get her first UK number one.
I am somewhat ambivalent about Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood' - while it's nice to see her at #1, I would much rather it have been her solo version.
We all know that it's because of Kendrick that the song is getting this success.

Well, if it makes the YTD Top 40, no way am I crediting him on my spreadsheet.

It's like the old cricket joke about the batsmen given out on a dubious LBW call :

Batsman to umpire - that was never LBW.

Umpire to batsman - oh yeah, well look in the paper tomorrow.

Batsman to umpire - You look - I'm the editor!

I'm pretty sure the OCC won't be crediting him either.

I don't think 'Black Magic' is released tomorrow - I believe that's only New Zealand.

itunes must have it wrong then because it said 22nd May unless that's the New Zealand single being downloaded.

Another week, another winner on sales winning the number 1 spot, another time it's Taylor. Hate this formula.

I've actually grown to enjoy streaming's inclusion on the chart - though there have been some terrible casualties along the way. I think maybe streams should be now divided by 200 instead of 100 so the chart is a bit more representative of what people are buying.

Can we do a shot in the Sunday chart thread every time somebody mentions Taylor Swift and streaming in the same sentence?

 19 Nicki Minaj feat. Beyonce - Feeling Myself

Yes Quens! :cheer: Still climbing and now in the top 20! :o

42% lead for Taylor.. and still.. no number 1. How can someone loves that :|

I think I'll be declared clinically dead by 7.

Love it or hate it but sales become less and less representative of what people like. The sales are falling down for 2 or so years now. I just checked: last week's sales fell down by 22% compared to the same week in 2012.

Yes, more and more sales #1 are denied the top spot because of streaming, but at the same time it's easier and easier to get that sales #1. Nick Jonas was a great example at that.
