To the person who keeps stating that Zedd's new single is getting zero support, I can tell you having had the 'pleasure' of listening to The Hits at work most of the day that the new single is getting plenty of plays.

And it's not being played on R1, Kiss or Capital which are the 3 which would usually impact the charts the most (or much at all). I had no idea they were a thing though.

Yes, but that is not the same thing as 'zero support'.

Indeed - it's had over a thousand plays according to Comparemyradio! According to some people on here, there are only three radio networks in the country. Of course if you get R1, Capital and Heart it makes it easier to get a hit, but don't be surprised when a record which isn't supported by them does manage to make the top 40, thanks to support from some of the smaller networks and independent stations. Just because you don't listen to them, doesn't mean nobody else does.

Would be nice to see four songs make the top 10 especially with minimal support

18 Zedd feat. Selena Gomez - I Want You To Know

27 WALK THE MOON - Shut Up And Dance

30 Rixton - We All Want The Same Thing

38 Leona Lewis - Fire Under My Feet

40 DJ Fresh & Adam F - Believer

142 OWS feat. Pusha T - Waterline

148 Robin Schulz feat. Jasmine Thompson - Sun Goes Down

major OOOOOPS at this.

I guess it not being featured on the iTunes front page doesn't help, but Walk the Moon isn't featured either and that's doing okay.

WTM need to climb faster. Lawson were just outside the top 10 this time last week
Airplay aside, it's great to see Zedd looking to maybe hit the top 10 on iTunes. His pre-order was one of, or the lowest of pre-orders yesterday.
So when the release date for singles changes to Fridays will the chart week include sales from Friday 00:01 to Thursday 00:00? or will it remain as it is now?
Am I alone in finding Leona's new single utterly dire then? :( she's had some amazing tunes in the past, but this, no.

I'd hesitate to go anywhere near as far as "utterly dire" but it's certainly not a highlight of her discography for me, far from it. I don't hate it but it's just "there", to be honest... I can count the times I've listened of my own accord on one hand (not that I've heard it outside of my own free will either!) - it's just not grabbing me for repeated listens. It's certainly not the powerful comeback she needs, which is a shame given the hype around this release before it premièred and kinda went nowhere.

I'd say her weakest single, but I like them all. It's just I clearly don't like this one enough if I'm not playing it  It's just one of those songs where, if it came on, I wouldn't leap to change the channel/radio station or anything.

It'll be Friday to Thursday!

Must admit, I thought Walk the Moon and Rixton would be MUCH higher by now :o Whereas I thought Zedd would be much lower. Interesting week this week!

It will be interesting how singles and albums chart will shape out now that it will be Friday-Thursday from July. I am also pleasantly surprised that Zedd is high on iTunes. I almost gave up on it doing well, to be honest.

“I Want You To Know” has got a great 'washing machine' breakdown in it. Thought I was back in 2011 for a minute when inexplicably Example used the same trick to have continuous back-to-back hits which all sounded the same.
Radio 1's chart show will surely get less viewers being on Friday though? I know that I wont be able to listen to it while im at work.

I actually think it might possibly get more! Especially since it'll be drive time.

Have you heard this though?

I play it more than the original.

Even worse :(

I still find moving the chart to a Friday to be an utterly ridiculous idea and nowhere near as essential a move as many would have you believe.

Semi-hoping Believer flops because it's pretty weak imo. Rixton's title is a bit unaccurate here as I would like it to do well although the vocals are a little screechy (even for a fair Rixton fan :o)

Sun Goes Down and IWYTK are both great but it's their own fault if they flop if they are messing around with release strategies

Hope Walk The Moon does well as it's pretty catchy :D

'Sun Goes Down' released at LAST. Hopefully it can do something. Must check out the new Eric Prydz song, too!

The new Prydz song is ok but doesn't touch the amazing Liberate of last year which should have smashed  summer tune  :music:
