I want to hate the Rixton song, but I do quite like it. I feel it's weird that the whole song is sung in that JT falsetto though, I feel it would be more effective if it were just some of the song.

Rixton have done quite well too, coming in at number 14, I'd imagine a top 20 placing for Rixton would be considered a success considering they were written off after that awful follow up to their number one.

 

It's a total flop for them, this has had so much more promotion and exposure/airplay than their follow-up last year.

Quite well? #14 on Wednesday is awful considering they've had a huge amount of radio support (plus, it's being used in an advert). Compare it to 'Roads' last week, who managed top 5 in the mids despite having less going for it.

Yeah, Rixton are #14 on the rolling airplay chart today, that indicates very stong support - it's actually higher than Carly Rae Jepsen ever got on airplay here!

 

Got I love this Zeddena song :heart: Her vocals are magnificent. My Personal Chart #1 this week.

This Zedd song is quite catchy but certainly isn't anything special. I suppose Zedd isn't known for being the most original DJ.

It would be quite impressive had radio not inexplicably given them another huge push with this release. I was personally expecting them to get completely snubbed. I imagine that if they were a girl group, they certainly would have been.

Rixton's #1 was a huge fluke anyway I think, I mean I'm a fan of their singles so far but Me and My Broken Heart got there on a dead week and barely hung around at all, total fluke really. I definitely expected more from this single though considering the support!

'Shut Up and Dance' has been quite the grower! I thought this was typical MOR radio stuff originally but it's got a bit more character than that.

Single sales are looking very low for the top3 but then again there aren't many new strong contenders in the charts. A lot of tracks are hanging about.

I really would hope Olly Murs Beautiful To Me can at minimum enter the official top 100.

Its combined sales are fairly consistent however (only down 5% week-on-week) so with the streaming incorporated the base level shouldn't fall much below 60K, and I think it'll be above that this week anyway because it is only just taking off on streaming (last week, up 11-2) despite the fall in actual sales.

 

However, saying that- we are still likely to fall below the sales low water mark provided by Nick Jonas' “Jealous” (46,865) which made #1 on the sales chart in April but was relegated to #2 on the official chart. So far “Want To Want Me” is on about 18.8K downloads for the week.
