De Gea is the real winner in this - and knowing who is agent is, I'm guessing there's already something pre-sorted between Madrid & United. The guy's got like an 80% salary increase, and had it backdated a whole year. No wonder he signed a contract! I think it's good for the fans though, and nice to see he's giving something back to them. Imagine it's very similar to the contract Suarez signed after giving himself in to Arsenal.

Guessing Chelsea probably regretting selling Cech now haha.

Chelsea will definitely suffer as a result of the injury to their goalkeeper and I can see them dropping a lot of points over the next 3 months.

I'm thrilled De Gea signed a new deal. Even if he still does go to Real, they can't get him for free which is great for us.

If he doesn't go to Real then we get 4 more years with one of the best goalies. Don't think theres a single united fan out there thats not thrilled by this.

This really is Arsenal's best opportunity to win the Premier League with the same applying to Liverpool & Chelsea. I have no idea why Chelsea never strengthed their defense because right now we're beyond poor at the back.

Four points in five matches is frightening.

Chelsea are having an absolutely shocking start to the season, 3 defeats in the first 5 matches is relegation form tbh. Especially when you put it in the context that they only lost 3 matches in the league for the whole of last season.

They could potentially fall 11 points behind Manchester City today if City win against Crystal Palace.

Defensivley they just look shot. So easy to open them up down the middle and the right hand side. Crazy. Can see Jose walking very shortly if things don't pick up.

Jose will 100% walk if things are not going his way.

I remember the terrible start to the season Chelsea had previously and he walked after they couldn't beat Blackburn.

And they have done just that, gone 11 points behind Man City....looks like Everton pinched their scoring boots today.....

Dream debut for Anthony Martial and a nice 3-1 win for United. What a goal that was from Benteke, definite goal of the month winner I think.

Absolute poop from both teams. Rodgers set us up to defend which is fine, but if you're going to do that at least be solid. He's abandoned his whole style. Terrible display.

Benteke goal was great, that was the only positive I can take out of the game. Martial's goal was good too, but rubbish defending from Skrtel. Made him look like bloody Messi.

Martin Tyler celebratory commentary was also a cause for me to hate sky sports :arrr: :puke2:

What do you expect - Man Utd is the biggest brand so the media need them to do well, and big them up at every opportunity. It sells. Must admit it's hilarious, now I am bias, and their 3rd goal was really good, but Benteke's bicycle kick was absolutely out of this world. It was a cleaner, and sweeter hit than Rooney's. Yet the goal has basically been glossed over.

The goal was glossed over because Liverpool lost. Definitely no anti-Liverpool bias in the media. The narrative of an expensive teenage signing scoring a solo goal on his debut appeals to more people than a consolation goal, no matter how good.

Loving Chelsea right now, long may it continue

Exactly the commentary from Tyler and Red Nev was as hushed as OT was when Benteke scored and it was much better than Martials goal which was a good goal and well taken but was more Skrtels poor stand off defending fault than anything else. But the sky media hype was all about the 19 year old. No doubt he's a great player but everyone's talking about him as if they a re experts now when no one had heard of him due to their EPL bias.

Did none of you hear the commentary from Tyler when Aguero bagged his goal against QPR to throw away the league title for United?

I think the difference in reaction for the Benteke and Martial goal was the impact it had on the match. Martial's goal ended the match and put the outcome out of doubt. Benteke's goal kinda, maybe might've just give Liverpool a little bit of hope to get back into the game. Or it might not. This is quite a fruitless topic to be discussing tbh.

Impact on the game is far more valued than the goal itself. Had Benteke's goal been an equaliser or even winner, much more of a deal would be made about it but who will remember a completely academic goal in terms of result on the outcome?

I don't think you can compare Martin Tyler's commentary of the two goals. Benteke's goal came from out of nowhere and happened in a flash but Martial's goal had the build up of him dribbling past Liverpool's defenders before slotting it in a Thierry Henry style.

I think Benteke's goal was better though but i'm sure most fellow United supporters would disagree, on the FullTimeDevils channel on YouTube no one is saying that Benteke's goal was better.

Benteke's was the clear goal of the weekend. He's an excellent signing for Liverpool.
If Newcastle win against West Ham tomorrow then Chelsea will be in the relegation zone
