Anyhow back later folks due to personal commitments.

Not as bad as RTE 2fm just after 8pm on Friday night, a song with the F word went out on air.

Stole The Show is not as good as Firestone but it's great to see another Kygo song in the charts. ^_^
I'm not sure I really get the output of Kygo. Firestone is rated a bit too highly to say the least.
Well I can't see anything on Wednesday's update apart from Sun Is Shining, Ship To Wreck and Take Me Away dropping out, and now all 3 have been "replaced". No Let It Go this week.

I'm guessing the new Weeknd song failed to make the top 40.

Stole The Show sounds VERY Avicii-esque, but that's not really a bad thing, still quite stanning him atm, his remix of I See Fire by Ed Sheeran in particular <3
So that means either James Bay or The Weeknd has missed out?

Probably Let It Go by James Bay is not top 40 today.

Edited by Jason

I hope Avicii is the next new entry on streams alone but it will most likely be The Weeknd

What do you mean? The Weeknd is on iTunes and Amazon too, so not just streaming alone.

Biography

Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.

In 2010, she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK in December 2010 and on 29 April 2011 she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Buckingham Palace. The album's title track, "Lights", was released in the US in March 2011, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Goulding's second album Halcyon was released in October 2012, "Anything Could Happen" preceded the album as the lead single. Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 Chart, her first top ten debut in the United States. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released on 23 August 2013, it included new singles including "Burn", which became her first UK number-one single in the same month. At the 2014 BRIT Awards she received the award for Best British Female. By the end of 2013, she has sold an estimated 4 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide. - Wikipedia

Album Discussion Here

Was not expecting to hear Love Me Like You Do this early! Might drop out next week then. :(
I swear every Kygo song / remix has the exact same riff. It sounds quite good but it gets a bit tiring after a while. 'Stole The Show' is ALRIGHT and might be a grower (like 'Firestone' was) but I think he's gonna need to differentiate his production a little bit soon or the public will get bored of him pretty quickly. Or maybe they won't.
Still not bored of Love Me Like You Do.
So just to clear the 4 new entries in MY opinion are: Britney/Iggy, Deorro/Chris, James Bay and Kygo.

Biography

Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson (born 29 October 1987), better known by her stage name Tove Lo (/ˌtoʊvˈloʊ/ tohv loh Swedish pronunciation: [ˈtuːˈvɛ ˈluː]) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Stockholm, where she graduated from musical magnet school Rytmus Musikergymnasiet, Lo formed the Swedish math rock band Tremblebee in 2006. Following the disbandment of Tremblebee, Lo pursued a career in songwriting, earning a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music in 2011. Working with producers Alexander Kronlund, Max Martin and Xenomania, Lo became a successful songwriter while recording and independently releasing her own compositions. In 2014, she was signed to Martin's songwriting collective Wolf Cousins, and offered a recording deal, signing to Island and Polydor Records.

Lo rose to fame with the release of her debut studio album, Queen of the Clouds, which opened at number 14 on the U.S. Billboard 200 in October 2014. The album spawned the sleeper hit single, "Habits (Stay High)", which peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. In addition to her solo work, Lo has co-written a number of songs for other singers, including Ellie Goulding's "Love Me like You Do" (2015).

Deemed "Sweden's darkest pop export" by Rolling Stone, Lo is known for her raw, grunge-influenced take on pop music. Her characteristically honest, complex and autobiographical lyrical content has played into a number of media sources recognizing her as "the saddest girl in Sweden". - Wikipedia

What a disappointment from the heights of the Habits remix of Stay High.

I also have a soft spot for the Chainsmokers remix of it.
