I hope it says 'this is my happy song'

lol it doesn't, I think the title is meant to be ironic.

[Pre-Chorus 1]

But if you sing along a little f***ing louder

To a happy song

You'll be just fine cause

[Chorus]

Every now and again we get the feeling

And the great big void inside us opens up

And I really wish that you could help

But my head is like a carousel and

I'm going round in circles, going round in circles

Watch out Rachel Platten

179. Meghan Trainor Feat John Legend - Like I'm Gonna Lose You

404. Rachel Platten - Fight Song :cheer:

 14. Bring Me The Horizon - Happy Song

they're back after their iTunes #1 smashaa 'Drown' with an OA/OS release then (and releasing on a Monday too, looks like someone didn't get the memo)

LOL... but I love them and this song!

I haven't had the chance to check this much since the new releases were unleashed... I'm shocked by Nick Jonas. :o When I said I thought that'd flop, I was thinking top 30-ish but this is really bad. Shame, it doesn't deserve it. :(

If 'All Hands On Deck' can get a chart entry this week I would be so delighted.

The best thing about the Little Mix track doing well is that it might spark a pop revival :D

Because there have been absolutely no pop songs in the charts at all this year? :P

I'm talking pure pop by British acts. Not many girlbands and boybands around these days and I think if Little Mix can have a genuine hit with a song as poppy as this, labels will look at signing more acts like them.

As much as I'm disappointed with their new single quality wise, I have to say I'm really impressed that Little Mix are bagging themselves a #1 single this far into their career. Good on them.
Jase, if you don't mind (again ) I just checked the release dates of the pre-orders and I starred the changes ;)

Thanks :D

pre-order update

100. Marvin Gaye (feat. Meghan Trainor) - Charlie Puth (7th August)

117. Come and Get It - John Newman (17th July)

134. Easy Love - Sigala (4th September)

245. Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) - Silento (28th August)

267. Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) [feat. Jasmine Thompson] - Felix Jaehn (21st August)

285. Get Stupid - Aston Merrygold (24th July)

290. Glitterball (feat. Ella Henderson) - Sigma (24th July)

361. Body Talk - Foxes (24th July)

374. Fight Song - Rachel Platten (7th August)

719. The Party (This Is How We Do It) [feat. Montell Jordan] - Joe Stone (31st July)

1104. Pony (Jump On It) [feat. Ginuwine] [Radio Mix] - Tough Love (14th August)

1380. Intoxicated (Radio Edit) - Martin Solveig & GTA (14th August)

23. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

This is number one on U.S iTunes, #2 in Canada & in the top 5 in Australia so it is very likely to enter the top 10 here as well.

 08. Wings (Acoustic) - Birdy

 13. Happy Song - Bring Me the Horizon

 23. Can't Feel My Face - The Weeknd

 28. Oh My Love - The Score

 52. Kings Never Die (feat. Gwen Stefani) - Eminem

 74. Invincible - Kelly Clarkson

 96. Powerful (feat. Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley) - Major Lazer

John Newman could possibly be #2 next week looking at the pre-orders.

#1 please. Calvin Harris needs to premier his track on Capital so he can prevent Little Mix from spending multiple weeks at #1

I was really hoping and thinking Glitterball could be a huge #01 when I first heard it :(. Looks like it will do similar to Higher now.

Pop music will come to dominate before the end of the decade I'd have thought. Personally, I hope this doesn't happen! Since 2013, the charts have seemed good to me, although in 2012 you could see that things were starting to diversify as a reaction against David Guetta-pop. Tracks such as Latch, Locked Out of Heaven, Suit & Tie and Thrift Shop were evidence of a real sea change in the charts.

I love how genres like Hip Hop, R&B, House, Drum & Bass, Grime, Afrobeat, Dancehall and even Garage have been getting chart hits over the last few years. Sure, there's been Pop songs I'd never listen to charting as well but there's something there for everyone. Compare to that to 2009-11 and the variety has largely been great.

Just noticed that the remix of Silento's "Whip/Nene" has been removed from iTunes but the fake version hasn't
Great to see kelly clarkson top 100. Would love it to edge towards the top 40
