Perhaps older Tory voters were raised in an era when attitudes were different, and are therefore less bothered by comments like this?

You don't think the comment is homophobic then? And Nimco who is blindly defending Boris says 'in context' it is not homophobic … 'bum boy' is a slur and no matter when you were raised, you should educate yourself and realise that is the case.

Cognitive dissonance in action! Bojo is also extremely racist and sexist. I wonder how she justifies that?

It is *now*, but IMO older voters are less likely to be bothered by its use.

It *ALWAYS* was.

I notice you didn't dispute my comment about older people being less bothered by its use, though.

What point exactly are you trying to make?!? Some older people not being bothered by it's use doesn't make it not homophobic which is what the original post / subject was about. To deny that it is a homophobic slur is ridiculous.
I don't care who is less bothered about its use, it is a homophobic term and offensive to use. Of course you aren't offended by it when it's not directed at you, I mean some people don't care about using the n word willy nllly because they have 0 compassion and don't think about anything before they speak, but that doesn't mean it's not offensive to those it is pertinent to.

Than it's fortunate that that is not what I was doing.

I am not claiming that it is not a homophobic slur, as to do so would be ridiculous - only that I can understand why others would not be so bothered by it.

In any case, if everything else in the campaign has not changed people's voting intentions, I severely doubt this alleged comment will.

You're contradicting yourself here, you say it is not a homophobic slur but you also understand why people might not be bothered by it?! Right okay.

I'll agree with you on this not changing people's voting intentions, even though it really should. He has refused to apologise and then his cult like following are defending him blindly, but 'GET BREXIT DONE' is the solution.

I do not see a contradiction there, as I know there are people who still consider homosexuality a sin (mostly religious types), and clearly *they* would not be bothered by it.

That is the *aim*, but no-one whose brain cells can be counted on more than one hand believes it will be a magic cure.

He has to if advised to cancel or leave an engagement by his security detail. They have the last say if there's any kind of threat. No questions and he has no say just like the Royals. He has a team of armed Special Branch officers with him everywhere he goes, day and night as every PM does.

Where is the security risk in being interviewed by Andrew Neil?

Where is the security risk in doing PMQs?

Where is the security risk in appearing before the Commons liaison committee?

Johnson simply does not like anything that resembles accountability. Why do you think he wants to review the power of the courts to rule against the government?

Oh come the f*** off it. What's religion got to do with the fact that it is a homophobic comment? Homosexuality may be a sin in some religions, but they're not all out there making comments like that on a daily basis.

You're just trying to find any excuse not to wholly condemn the comment, which speaks volumes, and you sound just as bad as the clown in that video.

I never said there were any security risks involved with those or much less as they're inside in a controlled setting. Outdoor engagements carry much greater risks though. You shouldn't just assume that he's cancelled of his own volition as he may not have had a choice.

Would you like to be hit by milkshakes? I wouldn't. Or eggs for that matter.

Oue fascists really are terrified of a few milkshakes eh. Mwaa. Bojo and Farage are cowards.

For what it's worth I do agree that the words Boris used were homophobic and he shouldn't have used them and I think he should apologise. He should have done so before now but if he won't then no-one can really make him can they. :( Some people find it hard to apologise as it hurts their ego somewhat. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever heard Boris say sorry to anyone about anything. Anyway the electorate will judge him on Thursday. The Tory lass in the video could and should have said it was homophobic too.

You see I do disagree with some things Boris says and does.

The fact is that Johnson takes every opportunity to duck out of anything resembling accountability.

Most of Johnson's offensive comments have been made in printed articles, not off-the-cuff remarks. He has made them knowing full well that many people would find them offensive. There is no excuse for that.

Weren't they mostly made a long time ago though? Certainly before he became PM and I think before he was even Mayor. A person can change their views over a long period of time.
