This is a forum. It's for discussion between people. Yes by all means air your opinions, but when your opinions are challenged with factual evidence don't be surprised to be in a position where you have to defend them.

We could have some very interesting conversations on here between two groups of people with opposing views who are willing to listening to each other. Instead what we get is a variation of this(exaggerated maybe but you get the point):

Chris/Vidcapper: A lot of XYZ are criminals, you just don't know!

Other posters: Well actually that's not quite true and here is evidence that supports this.

Chris/VIdcapper: ................

It gets rather tiresome.

Not just on your side, too...

What the f***. This is EXACTLY what we’re referring to. Christ alive we’d all be better off communicating with the carpet instead of you pair.
Thanks for proving my point.

I merely told the truth - I find the constant demands to justify opinions I've already explained many times, tedious.

We both know that N&P rejects my explanations, yet regularly ask that I come up with 'real' reasons.

Well they would do if your explanations contradict evidence and fact.

How can OPINIONS be evidence and fact? They are merely opinions, viewpoints. I'm often being asked to justify my opinions but sometimes I can't.

You use alternative facts and state them as your opinion though

You cannot have the opinion that brexit will prevent migration as it is factually untrue. That's not having an opinion.

That's the same as saying: "It's snowing" while it is a 35 degree sunny summer day

if you cannot easily justify your opinions why do you even have them, let alone spewing them onto a forum for DISCUSSION

and

please don't contribute to a world where truth and facts mean nothing. That's the point of this thread we're in (something you people should look at once in a while), to point out lies from a party known for making them.

Pardon my Welsh, but what utter HORSESHIT.

If your opinions aren’t informed by anything then, quite frankly, we don’t want to hear them.

It’s not because they’re not the same as ours, it’s because you cannot discuss anything with anyone who can’t explain their viewpoint.

To think you rubbished people studying degrees in English because it’s a waste of time, when you could do with studying one yourself. You will probably find out how opinions actually work.

I presume you wouldn't claim that all 17.4m Leavers were incapable of understanding the arguments presented in the referendum? Surely therefore you must concede that some of the cons of being an EU member must be valid, and to Leavers, those outweighed the pros of Remaining.

Well I could begin to argue with you on all these but we've been doing that since the beginning of times and we're yet to have a twosided discussion so I'll refrain x

Yes but my comment was directed completely toward Chris as he said he didn’t need to justify any opinions because he can’t explain them.

I’m happy to debate with any of the 17.4 million people if they were ready to discuss and explain themselves properly.

How encouraging that the nutjob Home Secretary doesn't even know the difference between terrorism and counter-terrorism.

 Of course she does. She just got them the wrong way round. FFS she's a human being and we all make mistakes. Do any of you know what a high profile and responsible job Home Secretary is?

Yet you remain much more critical of Diane Abbott for her mistakes. Somewhat double standards and blatant trolling I would argue.

Yes we all "mistake mistakes" as you just showed us but 5 times? It's a relatively simple term. If anything this just shows how incompetent the current government is.

It is an incredibly high-profile and responsible position, which makes it all the more baffling why someone like Priti Patel holds it.

P.S. she didn't make a mistake dude, she said it AT LEAST 5 times in that video clip. She does not know the difference and she is a clueless halfwit.

Priti Useless has already been sacked from the government for breaking ministerial code. She should by rights have no place near public office but unfortunately here we are.
Wanted to see it again but the BBC seems to have removed it now from I-Player
