Added alt-J - 'Relaxer' to the collection this weekend! I plan to get their older albums at some point too. Lorde's 'Melodrama' is also on my want list but doesn't come out on vinyl until September!

Additions to my collection:

The Big Thing - In The Elbow Room LP (clear vinyl, found in my local Oxfam)

David Bowie - Hunky Dory LP (2017 gold vinyl release . From my local record store)

London Grammar - Oh Woman Oh Man 7" (also from my record store)

Forward Russia - Nine/This Et Al - He Shoots Presidents [red 7", found in a Barnardos shop]

The Cribs - Year Of Hate [white label 7", limited to 247 copies]

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band LP [2012 repress]

David Bowie - Be My Wife [40th anniversary picture disc]

Arcade Fire - Everything Now [limited orange 12"]

Radiohead - OK Computer: OKNOTOK 1997-2017 (triple blue vinyl.  . One of the best albums of the 90s. This overtakes Bloc Party's Hymns white vinyl [£21.99] as my most expensive music purchase [£24.99])

^ I approve of your Beatles purchase *.* I need to re-purchase Sgt. Pepper's at some point, my grandad gave a duplicate copy to me but one of the records is missing

Got Lana Del Rey - 'Ultraviolence' today! So just 'Honeymoon' left now from her discography that I don't own on vinyl.

I'm going to get a record player soon but I've already bought my first vinyl.

I got Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman of course. :D :D :D It's beautiful

Thanks!

Sad to see that your copy of Sgt Pepper's has a record missing, especially if it's a really old pressing. Fun Fact: I have 60's mono pressings of With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night and Help!

There's some Lana Del Rey picture disc 7-inches on Discogs (Video Games, Ride, National Anthem, Born To Die, Blue Jeans). Prices currently range from £15 to £35

My Radiohead OKNOTOK box arrived today! :D

And easily becomes my most expensive vinyl to date, still it was worth it. Maybe.

Now need to find myself a cassette player for the mixtape!

I have that album on triple blue vinyl.

You are so lucky to have the box edition of this album, I saw a video posted on Radiohead's Instagram account with some man unboxing the album.

Added Kraftwerk - 'Man Machine' to the collection today  the guy who served me patronisingly said "are you buying this for yourself?? :o" yes m8 x

My other half always buys an album on vinyl, not just on CD; he likes to get it on every format there is. Last year he got Biffy Clyro's previous album on vinyl and then did the same with "Puzzle" on this extra-thick release of the album on Record Store Day 2015. It was a tougher material than usual and had an extra track from the CD version.

I have my own collection of vinyl, but it's a waste of money having two copies of the same thing in the flat!.

Been going on eBay quite a lot buying 80s vinyl of stuff that's never been put to CD yet, we are both after a new turntable because we only use a USB jobby at the moment and the stylus is a cheap ceramic thing, meaning the sound isn't exactly the best it can be.

I wonder if anyone can answer this for me...

I have a Bush Classic turntable which I bought after returning my Crosley Cruiser because the sound is incredibly distorted. BUT, my Bush turntable has exactly the same problem with sound distortion where vocal just sounds really fuzzy and unpleasant... it's really off-putting trying to listen to vinyls when this happens with near enough every song that plays! Does anyone have the same or similar turntable? From what I've read online it's something to do with the needle arm, but on such basic models the weight of this cannot be adjusted... Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Is anyone noticing artists getting out their vinyls on time is becoming increasingly difficult? Beyonce, Lorde, Katy Perry, Haim, Lana Del Rey and Calvin Harris all have their vinyls coming out months after release...

Yeah I've noticed that! So annoying. I wonder why it is?

I don't bother with CDs these days but I would've bought Lorde and HAIM's vinyls on release week, had they been released...

I ended up getting HAIM's 'Days Are Gone' last week in the end instead because I'd been meaning to get that for a while anyway.

The Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness, Skepta's Konnichiwa and Faith No More's Sol Invictus are some other examples.

Longest we had to wait in order for an album to get a vinyl release:

Ian Brown - Solarized (2004) [vinyl came out in April 2016 for Record Store Day]

Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions (2009) [up until 2016 (which I guess was put out to make way for their then upcoming album Ellipsis), the only way to get a vinyl version of this album was if you bought a boxset of that album]

Boys Like Girls - S/T (2006) [tri-color vinyl and red vinyl issues came out in July 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album]

I really want to start collecting vinyl. I love the size of the artwork!

Same, my two buying methods for albums are Spotfiy and vinyl. I feel like you get something worthy from a vinyl that you don't from a CD.

It's also not good for the record labels either. Artists like Lorde and Haim who's vinyl sales may have significant. Lorde probably would have charted a place higher! It'll probably effect Lana on Friday too, who is a big vinyl artist.

Supergrass - Going Out [burgundy 7"] (found in Oxfam)

Pre-ordered Arcade Fire's 'Everything Now' so I can get priority tickets on Wednesday.

Love that you can get the artwork in different languages on their store 😍 I've gone for Chinese, far prefer it to the standard English one. I want them all though </3

I very nearly went for the language edition too but was seduced by the night version with the opaque blue vinyl.

I just recently started collecting vinyl! I've only got 3 albums so far, but I'm gonna be growing my collection over time~

Right now, I just have:

- Lana Del Rey - Born to Die

- Harry Styles - Harry Styles

- Weezer - Pinkerton

I'm hoping to get Madonna's COADF album, Britney's Glory album, Amy's Back to Black, Nirvana's Nevermind, as well as the rest of Lana's discography on vinyl. Obviously others as well, but these are my main wants atm.
