I feel like everyone is jumping at the opportunity to attack her and 'cancel' - of course I get their point but I feel like they are forgetting how this much abuse can affect her mental health.

I’m not going to comment on the black fishing but I will say that the attempts in the article to show Jesy as $l*t shaming and against Leighanne aren’t very cute - the response to Sporty Spice was justified and pretty tame, and saying that Leighanne could deal with trolls better than Jesy could isn’t disregarding her friend really, in my opinion.

Not gonna lie, I really thought she was mixed :')

There are some valid points being made

some of the black fishing things are... very true- her tan is probably the worst thing, if she didn't tan as hard none of it would be bad imo, pretty much every female popstar wears wigs and gets lip fillers, Jesy's curly hair is also.. fairly natural? The tight curly style isn't natural but then again, curling her hair shouldn't be a crime when there's a lot of white women w/that style too? but I understand that when thrown together with the tan and the lips it then goes into that territory.

 

I also do feel that it's down to a decades worth of body conditioning though, it's hard to tell what's going on- after she left the group I whole heartedly expected her tanning to calm down a bit, and it did for a while but then some other images she just looks... darker than she should and I can absolutely see why black people have an issue with it.

 

the rest of the article is absolute bullsh*t though, I'm sorry. It seems like they found an opportunity to jump on her and took it, so many ridiculous low blows and very odd coming off the whole "mental health awareness week <333"

 

Jesy has always been a punching bag for stans, but she definitely won't get cancelled for this, if Ariana hasn't then Jesy won't, considering Ariana has a way bigger public image and goes one step further by drowning herself in AAVE!

 

oh and Uzo's comment was very.. odd. On one hand I feel like he's above being catty on social media and since he knew Jesy personally, especially during Salute/Glory Days/LM5, I doubt he'd take shots out of nowhere? but idk, gays will be gays loool- he's perfectly within his right to call it out though whoever its about, it's just annoying how people are looking at literally *any* reason to get at her.

Yeah, Jess is looking sensational.

The stuff being said about her response to Melanie C is SUCH a reach! I mean I love Mel she is my favourite Spice Girl and I think she had a right to express her opinion but Jesy's response was in no way $l*t shaming her it was in fact a totally fair response.

I just find it a bit... odd that she hasn't acknowledged any of it at all? Like... nothing. It's not like it's not being talked about rn and her ignoring it is only making it worse?!

I don't think Ariana has acknowledged doing the same thing? So maybe she's just keeping quiet, I don't think she understands the issue properly.

 

I just hope she tones down on the tan - she really needs some good publicity. I worry about her mental health if people keep attacking her. I know a lot of people tan as they think it makes them look skinnier and better looking so I think it all boils down to her insecurities.

you’re right, Ariana didn’t acknowledge either, she sorta slowly tapered off. But she never actively engaged with it either, unlike Jesy who is saying it’s her “natural tan”, I love her and stan her but it’s so insensitive of her to just not... act on this?

For someone who is so insecure about her body, the amount of selfies she posts is ridiculous and the number where she has virtually nothing on too.
