For someone who is so insecure about her body, the amount of selfies she posts is ridiculous and the number where she has virtually nothing on too.

 

She is obviously more content about her body and I think it is amazing she feels confident enough to share. Fair play to her!

I get why some people are annoyed but the way some people are attacking her is insane! It's like did you forget all about her documentary?

 

Twitter is the absolute worst, it's sad to see so many people attack her despite knowing everything about her.

She is obviously more content about her body and I think it is amazing she feels confident enough to share. Fair play to her!

She literally said she posts pictures for other people's approval - a lot of people do this unfortunately.

 

Do people want her to just stop posting pictures and go off social media? From a lot of comments she gets it really seems some fans want her to remain unhappy and miserable.

 

I for one am so happy she seems happier and more confident with her body. Why should she stop posting pictures like every other person just because of some pathetic trolls who are miserable with their own lives?

 

Let her do what she wants and post what she wants I say. Also I don't think you have a right, nor is it fair of you to say she's not 'body conscious' or hasn't been, you're not her and only she knows how she has felt/feels.

 

I say all this respectfully and just so you can see another person's point of view.

She's being called out for Blackfishing.

 

Someone asked her to not go so dark with the fake tan, she replied that it's her natural tan but then people have seen that one of the posts her friend posted from that same day contradicts that.

 

From what I've seen people actually haven't cancelled her or whatever. They've actually just called her out, asked for a response and/or explained why she is being called out.

 

Her acknowledging that comment seems a bit ignorant and almost like she's aware of it, but doesn't care when it's a growing problem.

yikes, Jesy has always been so messy! I hope someone around her educates her on why people are annoyed. I now see how her response can come across after hearing something else completely contradicted it!

I never thought I'd see the day where I'm defending Jesy but are we saying girls can't use lip filler, wigs and tan? Does that mean they're 'blackfishing' and if so, what's the harm? If that's how Jesy wants to look does it harm anyone? I can see why people could see it as being a bit weird and over the top but expecting her to apologize and stop doing it seems a bit over the top?

 

(And if we're going down this route are we going to say that Leigh shouldn't have wigs or straighten her hair either?)

I’m staying out of this but I beg you all to please research what blackfishing is, the implications it has, the negative effects it has on the black community/black women and also how it doesn’t exist in the “opposite way”.

 

also research mental health that surrounds body issues.

 

Jesy being called out for it is perfectly fine, coming from a huge Jesy stan, it’s ignorant of her to act like this.

I probably shouldn't have commented on the blackfishing thing tbf because out of all the stuff in this thread that is admittedly the most legitimate thing to 'call her out' on (I still think it's pretty overblown, but sure, if there are wider negative implications on the black community from this then she probably at the very least shouldn't be so flippantly dishonest about it). I've just reached a tipping point from occasionally popping into this thread / some other threads in this forum and it seeming to just be constantly toxic towards her for every little tiny thing that people sometimes have to have far too much time on their hands to even notice (bullshit like calling her out for unfollowing people on social media or not acknowledging chart campaigns that she did not even ask for or whatever). And I don't see in what universe it's an acceptable thing to basically say 'if she really has body issues then why does she post so many selfies??' - can we just let her do what she wants to do lol ~ (basically just seconding Slayer's post from earlier).

I love Jesy but a has actually gotten off extremely easily considering the extent of her black fishing. She has had an awful time with trolls and the media but she shouldn’t be exempt for criticism when she’s done wrong, and sadly she really has. The refusal to acknowledge or change her ways has been quite hard to digest for me personally.

Dunno like. Will be interesting to head a full song of hers, sometimes there's nothing better than Jesy's voice but other times I just wish she'd sing her words properly. Hoping her musics good
