The title track is OUT just missing out on a semi-final placing. Announced as the name of the album while wearing the now iconic meat dress, it was immediately clear that Gaga was making this album for the FANS that owed so much to her. The title song would not have worked any other place, except as the album's lead single. When it dropped after months and months of anticipation (she leaked bits of the song to avid fans, including the lyrics late one night - to which i read in my bed and wept too :'() the song was thrust into a sea of controversy following it hatching from its egg.. Did it rip off Madonna's 'Express Yourself'? Was it too preachy? Why was she randomly chanting "church" in the middle? Despite this, it became a huge hit for her, topping iTunes charts at record speeds and in record countries and cementing a bold return. The music video took inspiration from Hitchcock, Lang, Michael Jackson and many more and was quite the disturbing yet oddly beautiful package. A song that still means a lot to fans and though it is often bashed the message shines through that.
