July 27, 201510 yr Anyone know if Avicii's remix of Insomnia is able to chart on its own or is it included in the #85? It's charting separately from the original. It's not the same as when Calvin Harris re-mixed Spectrum and both versions charted together Edited July 27, 201510 yr by Hadji
July 27, 201510 yr No they wouldn't. Little Mix are ahead combined so they'd have remained at #1 on iTunes anyway - regardless of this fact, Sigma have very poor streaming in comparison (which will be the deciding factor is such a low sales week). No Sigella are ahead on Combined iTunes.
July 27, 201510 yr Foxes will no doubt jump over Aston for a good #16 debut this week! It seems low but it could've been MUCH worse!
July 27, 201510 yr No Sigella are ahead on Combined iTunes. BARELY. But my point was that the top version of Little Mix would've held on against Sigma for longer and denied them the '#1 effect' - not that it has helped them as they are #2 anyway.
July 27, 201510 yr Radio 1 Top 40 Singles Print Version Radio 1 Top 40 Albums Print Version Click on the above relevant links These are both weeks behind now. Very bizarre how they aren't updating them since the day switch!
July 27, 201510 yr I hate the charts these days, i really do. This streaming combination gives new releases a very tough time trying to break through because streaming will be high for songs released a week before.. We can never get rid of the old songs anymore either. Black Magic is good, but not three weeks at Number good.. Also Get Stupid should be top 10 and i don't even like Aston... July 27, 201510 yr Great to see Will Young up to #21 in the albums chart - hopefully he'll climb into the top 20. I think he'll climb a bit as he did in last weeks midweeks as the first 3 days (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) include the two biggest days for streaming. So those like Will who don't get high streams will climb in the days afterwards when streaming isn't as big of a factor. At least I think that's why he climbed a lot in the midweeks last week (coupled with increased BBC Radio 2 play).
July 27, 201510 yr Honestly Glitterball was a song that I imagined would perform similar to Higher, charting in the top 5 during the midweeks then falling a bit more by the end of the week. Now considering the lack of weekend streaming it'll be well within the top five so personally I think that'll be considered as an excellent result for Sigma, especially if it beats Higher out in terms of longevity. I'm surprised Aston is charting so lowly, I wonder if he'll be able to hold on in the top 25 before Friday now.
July 27, 201510 yr I wonder if NOW 91 is on its way to become the fastest selling album of 2015 so far? NOW 90 sold 264,000 copies in 6 days but NOW 91 will be the first album in the series to have a whole 7 days of sales for its first week so it could beat NOW 90's record
July 28, 201510 yr @MintRoyale: Chart fluctuation! looks like Foxes might stay top 20, even scraping top 15. LM, Sigma, Y&Y. Still extremely close 2-4 From Minty Edited July 28, 201510 yr by Joe.
July 28, 201510 yr Why is Body Talk so low in the midweek? Is it due to the Now effect? I'd say it's probably from the poor start it had on Friday aswell as the Now effect!

I think it will fall to be honest. :( It may be A listed on radio 2 but it's not getting many plays this week and those it does get are often during the night. The climb is probably down to the very small amount of promo he did last week.
July 28, 201510 yr Why is Body Talk so low in the midweek? Is it due to the Now effect? I'd guess with the entire 'weekend effect' now being early in the week as opposed to the end is a reason why most new releases show up lower than they would've before (though as Nelly mentioned the Now! ninety-whatever effect obviously plays a part this wk)
July 28, 201510 yr One last update: Disclosure Omen at 59. If it sells the same for the rest of this week it could scrape top 20.
July 28, 201510 yr Why is Body Talk so low in the midweek? Is it due to the Now effect? right, it's really weird considering the fact that she was in the iTunes top 10 through the whole week...
July 28, 201510 yr right, it's really weird considering the fact that she was in the iTunes top 10 through the whole week... It's not really, midweeks are very different from now, as streaming is huge over the weekend. I'm surprised it's as low as it was yesterday, thought it's climbed today. But it's not weird, we have to get use to the chart update not having things high up on iTunes being anywhere near as high by Monday.
