July 26, 20159 yr I don't really understand the list? Why are only some singles and some albums included? A lot of them seem to be debuts but some aren't (like Olly Murs single and album listed and One Direction album)?? Sorry I'm just confused
July 26, 20159 yr Author I don't really understand the list? Why are only some singles and some albums included? A lot of them seem to be debuts but some aren't (like Olly Murs single and album listed and One Direction album)?? Sorry I'm just confused For instance, I've included the best selling One Direction album - this wasn't their debut but their best selling album (in week 1). It is rare that an acts second/third release isn't their best selling (unlike the majority of the others which are the debuts). Like I mentioned in the opening post, there are no multiple entries, and so I just included the best selling One Direction album (for example). Apologies for the confusion. July 26, 20159 yr So essentially, this is a list of each X Factor acts' highest first week sale (for albums and singles)?
July 26, 20159 yr Author So essentially, this is a list of each X Factor acts' highest first week sale (for albums and singles)? Correct. I have edited the opening post to make this more clear to readers of this thread. Edited July 26, 20159 yr by Hassaan
July 26, 20159 yr It's odd because when I was reading about Andrea's album sales on Friday and wondering how he stacked up against other releases by X Factor alumni so thanks so much for putting all the figures together. I wonder how Ben Haenow's album and the next X Factor winner's single are going to perform

I wonder how Ben Haenow's album and the next X Factor winner's single are going to perform I think the fact he was mentored by Simon will mean him and Fleur receive the full Ella/1D/Leona in terms of the team they work with and subsequent material & promotion. Only the Young, also from the last series have a single coming out soon so it'll be interesting to see how that fares. Edited July 26, 20159 yr by Hassaan
August 4, 20159 yr Author I have added cumulative sales to the above post. It looks like it'll be an X Factor top 2 this week on the singles chart with 1D at #1 and Little Mix at #2.
August 4, 20159 yr Author Any idea how much maria lawsons album sold first week to make #41? I can't seem to find any sales for that, unfortunately. Stacey's album is actually called 'Shy' :heehee: What do you mean I mistakenly wrote "Fly"? ;) Edited August 4, 20159 yr by Hassaan
December 10, 20159 yr I like this thread but I would also like to see the total sales as well as the debuts.
December 10, 20159 yr 58,385 - Diana Vickers: Once (#1) This should be 68,385. :P Edited December 10, 20159 yr by mr_pmt
December 10, 20159 yr Author I like this thread but I would also like to see the total sales as well as the debuts. I have listed cumulative sales (i.e, totals) along with the debuts. Edited December 10, 20159 yr by Hassaan
December 10, 20159 yr I have listed cumulative sales (i.e, totals) along with the debuts. The cumulative sales of Cher Lloyd's and Diana Vickers’ albums are both in excess of 100k+ (they are both certified gold) and not listed here. Swagger Jagger’s sales are 200k+ as of 2011. Once has sold 204,000 copies. Bleeding Love has sold at least 1,180,000 copies and Bad Boys 860,000 copies.
December 13, 20159 yr It interesting to note all winners debut are their best singles and albs except little mix   they are actually at their most successful 4 years after winning
December 14, 20159 yr It's crazy to note that the week same difference debuted at 22 they sold 31k shocking how much sales climate has changed
