December 10, 20159 yr Safe as houses. Both were excellent last night. Arsenal have a 40% chance of meeting in Real or Barcelona in the last 16 though.
December 11, 20159 yr Happy that both Chelsea and Arsenal went through.. means we're probably likely to keep a 4th spot in the Champions League for a while yet!
December 12, 20159 yr Safe as houses. Both were excellent last night. Arsenal have a 40% chance of meeting in Real or Barcelona in the last 16 though. That would be a suicide attack as both Real and Barcelona could demolish Arsenal but however, I believe that there's no unbeatable team and would be a wonder if Arsenal could smash Barca or Real as I hate both teams! :D
December 14, 20159 yr Author Last 16 Draw: Gent v Wolfsburg Roma v Real Madrid Paris St-Germain v Chelsea Arsenal v Barcelona Juventus v Bayern Munich PSV Eindhoven v Atletico Madrid Benfica v Zenit St Petersburg Dynamo Kiev v Manchester City A month-watering tie between Juventus and Bayern Munich. Probably be adios to Arsenal with their draw against Barcelona, also history repeats itself for Chelsea again. Should be comfortable for Manchester City in their match. Another stand-out tie for me is Roma v Real Madrid. What do you make of the draw?
December 14, 20159 yr Looks like Arsenal are gonners then :P Chelsea could go either way they may actually turn up in the CL this year as there's nothing to play for in the prem. City look good money for a win there but I don't think they've ever got past the last 16 have they?
December 14, 20159 yr Well at least our coefficent for England looks OK. Roma will get spanked by Real Madrid, and Juventus would really need something special to beat Bayern over two legs. Even when Arsenal go out (and possibly Chelsea), you would expect City to progress to the quarter finals.
February 16, 20169 yr Author I can see PSG going through against Chelsea. I think it will be 2-0 to PSG tonight.
February 16, 20169 yr PSG looked dominant for most of that match, save about 20 minutes in the first half. A well deserved win. And they really need to be starting Cavani regularly, he's too good to lose.
February 16, 20169 yr Author A good win indeed for PSG. There just behind the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munic and Juventus.
February 16, 20169 yr Author Benfica will take a 1-0 lead over Zenit St Petersburg after their match.
February 17, 20169 yr A good win indeed for PSG. There just behind the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munic and Juventus. They're definitely not behind Juve. A little ahead if anything, I reckon...
February 17, 20169 yr Author Solid win for Real Madrid over Roma there. Wolfsburg suffering a minor scare as Gent did pull the match back to 3-2 still all to play for in that match.
February 23, 20169 yr The popcorn will be out for this! :D Said popcorn is out for what should be an entertaining match.
February 23, 20169 yr God Arsenal looked so good for a solid 69 minutes there. f***ing Flamini. f***ing Messi.
February 23, 20169 yr Barcelona's first goal was really good, MSN linking up to devastating effect there. I wonder if Barcelona will break the Champions League curse this season? they probably have the best chance of all previous holders.
February 23, 20169 yr The Flamini challenge didn't seem malicious or stupid to me... I think he was going for the ball but Messi was too quick for him. If I'm honest, the PSG v Chelsea first leg was a better watch for a neutral. You could mistake Arsenal for a lower-league team playing an FA Cup tie tonight (which isn't a criticism, Barcelona are on another level). Barcelona didn't really click, but did enough. 2-0 flattered them a bit.
March 9, 20169 yr Author Real Madrid comfortably through to the quarter-finals and also Wolfsburg into their first Champions League quarter-final.
March 9, 20169 yr Author And out of the Champions League go Chelsea as PSG reach the quarterfinals for the 4th year in a row.
