NO MORE ED AND SAM. Are you crazy. They've ruined the charts for a whole year. No thank you!

They need to take years out and come back..

If Ed a Sheeran of Sam Smith end of with the EOY no.1 album I will weep for the staleness of this nation's taste. It's more to do with the fact that they were the top 2 last year even if I do abhor both artists. Can 1D swing in and take it lady minute like they did with Emeli Sande two years ago?

I think moreover people need to stop weeping for all humanity if we have a best seller of the year that's more or less the same two years on the trot.

Yes, it's a bit stale but with an industry in transition between formats and sales on a bit of a slump, what else do you expect?

Simply Red were, I believe, the last act to be bestselling album of the year two years running in 1991 and 1992. Things more than picked up in the years that followed it.

Maybe people could start noticing hyperbole instead?

If you like dull EOY no.1s fine, not like it's a shock coming from someone like you.

Wow, already 19 posts in this thread - but only one that comes with chart information while the rest is mostly about songs/artits that are disliked :yahoo:

This is called discussion (until some more information comes), what is so wrong about it? :heehee:

Mint Royale hasn't given much away in the last few weeks due to being busy with other things it seems so we need something else to talk about :D

I think Marvin Gaye is going to break the 90,000 to 100,000 sales barrier this week. I have a feeling it's pre orders are going to surprise some people, they aren't what they used to be but it's been in and around the top 100 sales on itunes for quite some time

I'll never get the meaning of the phrase "Let's Marvin Gaye and get it on" but I think it's nailed on for #1.

Will Cilla manage to move higher up the charts this week?

How have 1D fell from #1 on Friday to #9 on Monday?!

Because fewer people are buying it in its 2nd week?

So the alleged biggest boy band in the world have dropped 1-9 in their 2nd week? That's the best news I've heard in ages.

You clearly don't get out much.

There's also the fact that airplay is only just kicking in and most buys last week were likely fan base ones?

No, I'm sure you're right, they're nearly over...

To be honest though, it is a pretty poor song ;) The production seems really cheap too, I don't think they can have even tried with this one

Good grief.

None of their songs have been good though. They are completely manufactured and don't have any proper talent. They are Simon Cowell's pop puppets.

If Dr Dre is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined, I guess his album could be on 25k/30k+ right now.

Just come to the realisation that 'Marvin Gaye' is going to be my birthday #1 this year. :nocheer: I suppose an improvement on the likes of 'Baby Cakes' and 'Men in Black'.
