February 26, 20169 yr Good job done, easily the strongest entry put forward for Stockholm. It's very 2/5 Tbe Wanted, but it's hooky and the guy on the left is cute as f***. Yes, I'm part-relying on eye candy factor.. Bad times!
February 27, 20169 yr Meh, not seen the performances yet but I'd have preferred Darline or Bianca, but I guess finishing wise it was the best choice.
February 27, 20169 yr Author Also here's the press conference that took place following their victory, hosted by Scott Mills: PVPvPhgcdw8 And a nice interview with Wiwibloggs from a few days ago: ebZtcd1oMqM Very nice guys!
February 27, 20169 yr Song is ok - An improvement on last year but I really can't see it troubling the Top 15 or becoming a hit. The good thing is that the public reaction to the show seems to have been good so might encourage the BBC to have it on BBC1 next year? Also interesting that 2 contestants of The Voice won when it's long been said that the winner of the show should be our entry - Guess the BBC missed their chance with that seeing as it'll be on ITV next year!
February 27, 20169 yr Plus Joe & Jake make a nice addition to Jade, Javine, Jemini, Josh, James and Jessica in the UK Eurovision entrants list. Dosen't bode well for their success though if they are joining the J club
February 27, 20169 yr Jessica and Jade both finished top 5  Not that JJ have any chance of that. James came 16th out of 24 too which for us in the 21st century isn't too bad

The Voice would be a very different show if the winner became our entry. I'm sure a lot of potential contestants wouldn't have entered if that was part of the deal. Still, it's good to see two of last year's contestants given another go.

February 27, 20169 yr Fortunately woke up without a hangover so I could endure watching the performances again and they did sound much better at the venue, Karl especially. He absolutely murdered that corpse of a song, I wonder where he finished in the voting, can see him coming 5th. I was the perfect choice - musically, but I could see Darline doing great things in Stockholm. And funnily it'll be the second year in a row the UK is represented by former The Voice contestants, after Bianca last year.
February 27, 20169 yr I hear that this pulled in roughly 4x the amount of viewers that BBC4 tends to get so hopefully that bodes well for being back next year regardless of what happens in May. They've got the J-Factor in their favour :D And maybe I'll throw my name into the ring :o
February 27, 20169 yr Darline sounded like the best option on paper but I think if they performed like they did last night, they would absolutely be forgotten and lost. Joe and Jake aren't necessarily going to stand out but there's more they can do to stick in people's memory, Darline just didn't work on that stage imo, they'd be swallowed up by Eurovision.
February 27, 20169 yr I agree with that, Until Tomorrow would have needed a very favourable running order, more memorable staging, more chemistry between the two girls and a far better vocal to have stood any chance at Eurovision, as nice a song as it is. Joe and Jake could get cancelled out by Denmark and Ireland if either/both make the final, but I personally think it's better than both of those. All that said, nothing in this national final was ever going to trouble the top ten, and at least Joe and Jake have a catchy song with solid production and will put in a good vocal and stage performance. February 27, 20169 yr Actually, I felt the same way when I saw The Shires live a few weeks ago (when they supported The Corrs). Lovely country-pop songs with great melodies but they had no stage presence or command of the huge O2 audience at all and it fell a bit flat. Common Linnets had all of that in spades, thanks to their fantastic staging and the chemistry between Waylon and Ilse, but that doesn't mean all country pop duos will automatically work at Eurovision from this point onwards.
February 27, 20169 yr Miracle is now on iTunes... I assume the others won't bother releasing their songs, apart from Joe and Jake in a couple of months, which is a pity as I'd quite like an HQ studio version of Darline's track.
February 28, 20169 yr I'm really liking Joe & Jake's entry. Regardless of if they do well or not on the actual contest it's so refreshing to finally hear something that sounds current and contemporary as our entry rather than the any old shit we've sent in recent years (having said that, I did quite like Blue's entry in 2011). I think if they're aimed at the right audience after this by a record company - I'm thinking The Vamps or One Direction fans would lap them up - they could forge good success.
