Was hoping the video effect would have a bigger impact for Rita Ora than it has :(

Maybe if it was a better song  Would like more songs like Hot Right Now & R.I.P. from her and her pulling power got Charles Hamilton and K Koke their only top 40 hits. Maybe she could push her Freak Of The Week Remix, even though there's two great ones already.

Ella Eyre hasn't released the right song at the right time so far. Objectively, Comeback was the biggest sounding song but didn't really fit in the 'Sound of 2014'. My personal favourite is Deeper - doesn't sound like a hit but its very good.

Great to see Jess Glynne getting loads of success too. She's been described as 'chavvy' but it is a British thing to knock the successful

It's went from #32 to #12 on iTunes that's a good enough affect. She's dropped due to the weekend affect and new entries, It will start climbing again on Monday.

Looking likely Ella Eyre will peak at #16 which surprises me, I'm guessing it should just make the top 40 after all which is still rather disappointing. I don't get why she's performing so badly considering Radio 1 are hammering all of her songs.

OA/OS releases & video releases will probably be staggered out for most releases, to give the song a second wind! Not sure how effective it would be to release the song & video at the same time.

Agreed, I've always thought the "Week 1: song premiere, Week 2: airplay increases, Week 3: video premiere" structure is the best way to handle OA/OS releases.

I think Rita Ora is doing just fine at the moment - I've seen the video once on TV so far but that'll certainly increase and radio already seem to be loving it.

congrats to rachel platten who in her late 40s looks to be scoring her first hit / launching her pop career

just goes to show that age is no barrier in the digital age

I don't get that Rachel Platten succes. It sounds like at least 5 other songs and I feel like nothing is really happening at all. Plus the lyrics are stupid.

Mexican Madonna slaying!

Wasn't expecting to see Madcon in the T40 on iTunes with "Don't Worry" (#33 currently) - is it getting any airplay in the UK? I heard it out in Croatia a month or so ago and was hooked - hoping it's not too late for it to become a UK chart hit.

 at the release date for Format:B.

Stylo G holding up better than I expected after R1 exposure yesterday. Think it'd be an achievement to go top 40, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sigala would be #1 if they just released it now!!

Unreal how they have waited three months to release it

This song is driving me nuts at the moment due to the new Ribena advert :drama:

Yeh I agree to an extent but with releases that will def enter high like 1D it's better to just go for broke from day one IMO.

Hope Jess will manage stay at #1 and gain the double next Friday. Currently 0.9 combined and with higher streams than Rachel I hope she'll be able to beat her and Charlie/Meghan to #1. Her streams seem to be increasing quite a bit so hope that trend will continue throughout the week.
