Carrie :o That's a major promo slot for her, how brilliant  The audience will not be best impressed though I'd imagine but it's not much different to Fifth Harmony last year.
So glad Carrie has a slot. There are going to be SO many "wtf who?!" trolls like Cee Lo and Nathan.
As much as i personally love Carrie, they really are scraping the barrel this year with the guests arent they
They really haven't managed to get an A-list star (well I guess Ed) this year so far have they.
Coldplay need to be next week's guest performers if they wanna give Adele a run for her money

Omg yes at Carrie getting a slot! I hope it'll give the song a good push and the album too.

Omg :o I'm so shocked but so happy! Absolutely adore Carrie and Heartbeat is such a beautiful track

Big chart boost hopefully and also looking for to Sigma/Rita

Scraping the barrel a little. When are we going to get a huge star perform? If Adele performs in the final, I guess all is forgiven.

Muse be it, all their money gone for her.

Has Carrie Underwood ever had a hit over here? I know Good Girl got a small push, but I don't think it led anywhere. Nice for her though.

No, but a few of her songs went top 200 (I Told You So/Blown Away/Something In The Water).

Carrie's only been getting a push in the UK recently. Blown Away (album) made it to #11 and she sold out the royal albert hall. Her latest album should be her biggest selling (peaked at #13) if her performance is percieved well.

Also, I'm not sure why it's scrapping the barrel with Carrie? Isn't the X-factor also meant to be supporting up and coming acts or acts that are just starting to get pushed in the UK? Granted she isn't a big star in the UK, but she's certainly got a niche here and an X-factor slot should be a great way for her to expand it a bit. :)

Why the basic Rita Ora?

If you haven't already noticed, she's a judge on there... :kink:

Carrie is a huge name in the US but less of one here of course, so this promo slot really surprised me but I'm delighted! She's had two top 20 albums in a row now and Radio 2 support her so I think this could work WONDERS for her. It's not scraping the barrel by any means, in the US she's the biggest selling American Idol contestant I believe. Incredibly excited as she's a massive talent and I really hope this can give her a much needed hit single!

I'm sure there are those in the UK who know of Carrie, but regardless, she's got an outstanding voice and surely is deserving of a place given her success on and after American Idol. In her homeland, she has gone on to have a career that all the contestants should want.

As for Rita... EW.

Oh deary me. Gone are the days of Beyonce, Taylor, Gaga, etc

Why should they constantly have massive names though? Are there many right now that even NEED a slot?
