I'm pretty sure Little Mix will comfortably beat Ellie in the album chart. 'On My Mind' has lost most of its momentum and Ellie has never had a strong first week.

I think it'll be close. These are Little Mix first week sales:

DNA - 53,314

Salute - 35,281

Ellie:

Lights - 36,854

Halcyon - 33,425

Both of Little Mix's albums were released in mid-late November, with Ellie releasing Lights in late February and Halcyon in early October. I think it'll be quite close between them.

But you yourself are counting in your post :kink:

I would say to bear in mind that 'Halcyon' + its expanded form sold over a million copies in contrast to 'Salute' only scraping platinum, but considering Little Mix have never had the level of momentum they currently have, together with 'On My Mind' not exactly smashing or appearing to lend itself to album sales, I think it'll indeed be a close one. I'd still expect Ellie to get her best ever opening sales given her high-profile promotion this week (Children In Need, Graham Norton) and I'd place my bets on her narrowly getting the #1. It'll be an interesting battle for sure.

#1402. #1301. Leona Lewis - "One More Sleep"

Great to see this back. Hopefully it'll do better this year than last year with it featuring on the Now! Christmas compilation (out Friday) and others. Plus being on the spotify Christmas playlist from the start.

What happened it on Spotify last year? I forgot!!

It peaked top 75 though right?

9 Little Mix Love Me Like You

Hurrah. Hopefully their streaming will improve and they can get a top 10 officially at some point.

It wasn't added to the Christmas spotify playlist until around December 20th, so its streaming was poor until then. (Once it was added it climbed a lot).

Peaked at #80 on the main chart and #66 on the sales chart. Will hopefully do better this year.

Yeh thought as much, why was it added so late to Spotify I wonder?!

Not too sure, but Leona's done a bunch of spotify promo this year and has gotten a bunch of her songs added to various popular playlists this year. So hopefully that'll mean "One More Sleep" will get added to multiple Christmas playlists this time round (other than the main Chrismtas one).

Just Spotify generally not clocking onto the fact they were missing a Christmas hit off their main playlist until Christmas eve. I don't think there was more to it than that. But i'll help that she's on it this year, I highly doubt she'll make the top 40 though.

Ellie's a bigger star now than when her previous two albums were released, so she should in theory have her best opening sales week. I think it will be close, but Ellie will be ahead.

Also, On My Mind might not be massive, but neither is Love Me Like You. Don't forget that Ellie had Love Me Like You Do earlier this year which has sold over a million combined, which is still part of this album.

Starting to do very well on pre-orders now, especially for an unheard song. Think the promo from the advert this weekend has done wonders for creating some hype.
