Isn't it already f***ing obvious that the entire Europe would get behind Paris after this?! And when has EVER a war ended well? The answer is never. Immediate retaliation and panic would only make the situation worse. And it's what ISIS really want.

I understand what you're saying but I'm not sure the comparison with Chamberlain is entirely accurate or comparable. IS want a warlike response so that they get more people to join their campaign.

 

I read something I thought was very interesting about Islam as a religion - it developed 500 years after Christianity and if we go back 500 hrs in Christian history Christians were doing mad things as well - let's hope the extremelist element of Islam is rooted out as it develops and matures.

or to go one better, it's in homo sapiens nature to out-compete every other species, and they have wiped out entire species, including other near-relative species like Neanderthal's, the tribal instinct has allowed it to develop and dominate, but it's also it's biggest evil. Shoot To Kill is all very well when they are stood in front of you with a gun or bomb and it will 100% save lives, but we are talking about the inept police force that can't tell the difference between an unarmed Brazilian and a suspected terrorist. A different police force managed to catch the actual potential terrorists, and without killing them. The police force that executed an innocent man just complained about the successful police force taking unnecessary risks, slandered the innocent man for days, refused to say sorry, or acknowledge they had done any wrong and refused to compensate his relatives.

 

So, yeah, I also have misgivings about a blanket Shoot To Kill policy...

It's frighting how ignorant a lot of people have been regarding this on Social Media, so many people are easily swayed and clinging onto any possible bandwagon without knowing facts, the amount of muslims etc that have been attacked in the last week is nothing short of disgusting. In Dundee, 6 Muslim boys aged 16-30 were in town today handing out roses to anyone who would accept them, it's heartbreaking that they feel the need to do this.
