Is the download market fading away because so many OAOS singles are dead on arrival though?

No it is mainly falling away because of streaming.

OAOS should have been implemented when digital first came in but record companies put their heads in the sand pretended it was still 1997 and tried (and successfully managed) to kill it off. But thankfully the held back strategy is now dead and buried thanks to streaming and hopefully will never work ever again! :D

I'm surprised they haven't tried putting streams up for "pre-order" yet.

If people were able to put future releases in their playlists and get alerted when the release was available to stream that would allow songs to climb the Spotify chart faster.

If I search for Riton's Rinse & Repeat for example it currently says 'no results found' but if there was a result for it so I could add the song to my playlist as a "pre-order" then I'd be more likely to play it as soon as it gets released to Spotify as I can't be bothered to search for it every day.

Don't give the record companies any ideas :drama: This does sound like the most logical way to go for fanbase releases though, I wonder if anyone will cotton onto it, or indeed if Spotify and the like would allow for such a feature.

I think this is a touch on the harsh side! In the end a choir at Christmas is kinda fitting (and so is a charity song for that matter), I wouldnt want it every xmas but as a one off its fair enough.

But it is every Christmas! :P

Wow

NHS 1.000

Bieber. 6628

Plus nhs other version is over .20 and bieber other only .0459.

Feeling better that I cashed out this morning, may have lost a few bob if i had t of cashed out but still made 200 quid profit. It's just too nerve wracking now.

"Love Yourself" now down to 0.5068 combined as of the lastest update. Unless JB's streaming numbers are holding up, I can see the NHS Choir just pipping him to the post at the rate they're increasing.

edit: beaten.

Buzzjack will go into meltdown if the NHS track goes to #1 :nocheer:

Greatttt bye bye bye 450 quid.

Stupid choir it sounds dreadful too.

They will fall hard tomorrow or the day after.. It won't be enough.. He has more than 45K streaming points when they are selling 8K per fay.. so today they sold 16K or something? Not even that.. And he already has 7K ahead and the streaming advantage will be there until Friday... So they will need to stay 50% ahead in the next 3 days which... I can't see happening.
If the NHS Choir does go #1, it'll probably break the record for the biggest drop from #1 next week.

I hope Bieber holds on, another soon-to-be-forgotten charity cover getting the xmas #1 would be the biggest of anti-climaxes

I don't see NHS holding up and while they may have a 50% lead over Justin. It will be impossible for NHS to close the gap of 7,000 when Bieber has a 400,000+ lead over them. If NHS had physicals then I would be worried.

#StreamLoveYourself

Excellent - Get #streamloveyourself trending on Twitter, Grinch! Everyone knows a Belieber or two, let's hit it hard!
bbc radio is clearly supporting the choir (for unknown reasons)

I think it's because they were on Gareth Malone's BBC2 show "Siing While You Work" so that makes sense.

I wonder how many people put it on Bieber? How much amount of money? Surely the bookers wouldn't want to lose the money if it's really a lot?

It's obvious the bookmakers have paid people off, they will always fix things so they don't have to pay out.

Betting is never a good thing, I don't know why I decided to bet, nothings ever a dead cert. Lesson learned!

A couple of people I know have cashed out - so taken the money now, ok I've got a bit less than if I'd waited but still almost 200 quid profit. Unless someone is with a bookie that doesn't offer cashing out, most people won't need to lose anything. Some people will want to hold out, and that's the risk you take with betting.
