I'm not surprised, il be more interested to see her sales next Friday to see if she can stay above 100k!

Will "X" - Ed sell 50k this week? Still an outside chance of 1 million this year I guess
Also looking like 500k for Coldplay, not bad considering the sales of "Ghost Stories"

So this Christmas, it looks like the Christmas No1 could struggle to make 100k and will certainly be in the bottom three selling Chrimbo number one's of the last twenty years. Just shows the lack of competition this year. When is somebody going to come up with a really good Christmas tune?

There are good Xmas songs out there they just don't have support/currently the artists aren't relevant in the charts. We've also had a fair few this decade with Leona (which was a chart hit), Coldplay (which was a hit but was released in a poor way), George Michael (who went top 40 with the help of XF but isn't relevant in the top 40 any longer), Kelly Clarkson and the various John Lewis ads some of which may be considered Xmas hits in the future (most likely Gab Alplin & Lily Allens efforts)!

Here's an indication of what the Christmas #1 would be if you took away the X Factor winners, charity singles and campaigns that have dominated since 2004:

2014: 181,545 Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk (#2)

2013: 63,858 Pharrell Williams - Happy (#2)

2012: 88,400 will.i.am ft. Britney Spears - Scream & Shout (#3)

2011: 50,622 Coldplay - Paradise (#5)

2010: 104,487 Rihanna ft. Drake - What's My Name? (#2)

2009: 61,677 Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (#3)

2008: 72,417 Leona Lewis - Run (#3) / 47,092 Beyonce - If I Were a Boy (#4)

2007: 30,887 Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (#3) 28,419 The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York (#4)

2006: 55,559 Take That - Patience (#2)

2005: 159,815 Nizlopi - The JCB Song (#2)

2004: 27,922 Ronan Keating - Father & Son (#2)

I say indication, because there's no knowing who may have released if it weren't a foregone conclusion who the #1 would be, plus some songs may have sold more if it weren't for people choosing to support another song, or even sold less (in the case of Nizlopi, pretty sure people campaigned for that to be #1 in place of Shayne Ward.

Would have been fantastic if 'Uptown Funk' got Christmas #1 over Ben Haenow - pretty sure it had a chance towards the end of the week and people definitely anticipated it before the first sales flashes. If Ben didn't have physicals, in the same way NHS Choir don't, 'Uptown Funk' would have got it.

So I guess Adele will do around 400-420K this week? in her FIFTH week? LOL! QUEEEEENNNN!!!

Well she's averaged 70k per day for the last 2 days. If she keeps that average over Wed and Thur (might increase), it'll sell 440k

Leona and Kelly for example have in recent years, but nobody wants to know. :(

Yes, both are good songs but not many really popular Christmas songs that make number one.

Chris Brown's physical sales must be appalling, he's been hanging around #8 all week on iTunes (#4/5 in artist albums) and upon release was #1, so even I'm shocked to see him set to miss the top 20, considering he's been a constant presence this year, despite no hit solo single!
You do realise that his sales might have been enough for #1 in August?

If the album would have been released in August, it would have sold much less in that period of time.
