The Britney/Beyoncé/Leona/Alesha/Christina/Rihanna week when all released that week

Early 2009 with the Gaga x2/Allen/Clarkson/Swift/Saturdays all had big hits

• the week Avicii debuted at #1 with 'Wake Me Up' selling over a quarter of a million sales in one week *.* (also, that song stopping One Direction from going to #1 a week or two later was one of my favourite chart moments)

• the week Loreen went to #3 and Rudimental went to #1 because no-one saw it coming and both are brilliant songs!

• the week Ant & Dec stopped one of the worst songs ever ('Just Give Me A Reason' aka 'SCREECH') from climbing to #1

The top 6 with brand new entries in early 2000 - Fill Me In, Flowers, Song For The Lovers, Deeper Shade Of Blue, The Bad Touch and Blow Ya Mind, plus Airwave at #10 - always stood out for me for some reason.

Earlier last year when Cheerleader unexpectedly went to #1 (a week earlier than predicted), Alesso's Cool scraped into the top 10 and I'm An Albatraoz debuted at #25.
Well I was most excited during the week when Luke Friend got his top 40 hit, a lack of midweeks that week meant I really had no idea if it would make it or not, and I was absolutely ecstatic when it started playing as #40
The week little mix got number 1 with wings was a shame Lucy spraggan had to delete her song of itunes at the time because it seemed an unfair advantage to the other contestants apparantly

Another specific favourite of mine was the week where there were new entries from John Newman, Miley, Eminem, The Sats, Conor Maynard, James Blunt, Justin Bieber and Ylvis in the same week :o

the second half of 2013 was so good for top 10s packed with new entries omg *__*

w/e 24/11/81 is a good one, Laurie Anderson leaping to No. 2 with "O Superman", and Toyah, Altered Images, Human League, the Jam and Elvis Costello all inside the Top 10. "Tainted Love" still hanging around at 22 is a bonus.

28/10/00: The week Who Let The Dogs Out jumped from 14-2, being prevented from reaching #1 by Steps - Stomp (which was itself a somewhat unexpected #1).

1/3/03: The week that there were a lot of new entries in the lower half of the top 40 (including Mark Joseph's debut hit which was only stocked in 6 record shops), but only 4 (a low number by 2003 standards!) in the top 20, with quite a few surprise movements, including a totally random climb from 20-8 for Good Charlotte.

27/12/03: The famous Christmas chart - a close battle for #1 (with both songs selling over 220,000 - all physical sales), the record label scoring only its 2nd ever #1 hit (a full 7 days after its first #1 hit), Idols coming nowhere near #1 (albeit with a sale that would have been sufficient in most 2003 weeks) and even being beaten by Bo Selecta.

17/6/06: Unexpected flops from Sugababes and Duncan James, an array of World Cup songs entering/climbing, The Automatic reaching the top 5, and a ding-dong battle for #1 between Sandi Thom and Nelly Furtado (one of the midweek updates had the 2 songs separated by just 1 copy).

The week The Corrs had the #1 and #2 in the album chart simultaneously in 1999. Bieber could nevah (in the album chart).

The week in 1999 that Genie In A Bottle, 2 Times, Don't Stop and Blue (Da Ba Dee) were the top four - A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. x4

The week in 2001 that N-Trance proved how incredible Set You Free is by taking it into the top five for a second time.

The week in 2002 that DJ Sammy's Heaven beat more heavily hyped singles by Madonna and Craig David to #1. I'd predicted it for months but nobody else saw it coming (among my friends/fellow chart geeks at the time at least).

The week in 2006 that Shakira's Hips Don't Lie climbed to No.1!

The week Scooter knocked Madonna off the top of the album chart in 2008.

The week in 2011 that Steps waltzed back into the album chart at No.1 with a second hits collection after a decade away and no expectation of success.

The week in 2012 that Loreen's Euphoria went top three *.*

-------------

Least favourite: The week Alice Deejay's Better Off Alone stalled at #2 again (on its 4th week?) and lost out to Westlife's If I Let You Go by less than 500 copies - they could have ended their dreadful opening run of #1s before it had even got going!

Yes! When most of them got top 10 *.*

How did the Baha Men jump from 14-2 in 2000?

Maybe it was the week that the Rugrats film got released in 2000.

When Black Magic spent third week on #1.
Actually realised much later that 'Just Give Me A Reason' isn't an awful song. It's a perfectly OK song but sung by somebody with a slightly annoying voice and somebody with an amazingly annoying one.
