I feel like this will be a grower for people. First listen my reaction was like 'what the hell is this ?' but after a few listens i'm really liking it ! . I just love the Carribean chilled vibe to it.
I don't think this'll grow on me tbh. Urban Rihanna is fine with me but her (big lead) singles need to be pop smashes and this is not that.

Hmm... it's very "track 8" on the album, isn't it? I like it, but I don't like it anywhere near as much as I should for a Rihanna song! It's NOT a hit at all and despite it's repetitive chorus/hook, I don't think it's particularly catchy?

It's alright, but I really wanted a BANGER! Oh RiRi

You know if she released 'American Oxygen' and now this and she has BETTER on her album. I'm going to be frustrated. I kinda want the album to be poor (with the exceptions of FFS & BBHMM - and maybe one or two other tracks) just so she flops majorly with it and resorts back to the chart smashes! Like, there's nothing wrong with this sort of sound, but this is NOT something you lead an album with. :(

It makes me worry for the quality of the album if she's been away for this long and the best she could come back with for the lead single is this.

A few more listens tonight and I just can't get into it, it's so empty of both style and substance. I liked the tropical vibe on first listen but now I can't even hear that vibe. It's like a light, stripped and boring re-edition of "Cheerleader"/"Sorry". I'd be surprised to see it becoming a hit beyond the initial hype.

Oh Riri. :(

why is this getting such a negative reception?? It's not exactly her best song ever but I am very much enjoying it. :music:

Exactly how I feel. It's definitely like the "quite good" reggae bop on the album (it's not a CAREER DEFINING smash like Man Down x). And I'm really not that hyped for Anti because I think if there was something better, she'd release it.

It's fine, might grow, will never be among her best or even her second-tier singles though. It's so weird to see her floundering like this even a year after she aborted R8. Seems like she's become stuck in some pretension of being an artiste but just doesn't have the tunes or the ideas to back it up.

In other words, just give us bloody LOUD Vol 2, Riri.

Gah, this is frustrating. After the wait, I really thought she'd break out with something spectacular but this is just really poor. I love Bitch Better Have My Money and it's easily my favourite of the era so it's nothing against urban-RiRi but this is actually just really annoying. The 'wuhwuhwuhwuhwuh' in her nasally tone (which isn't usually a problem at all) is really grating by the time you get to the end of the song and Drake is the only thing to relieve you from it. His bit is decent.

Like, seriously poor. If it does become a grower, fair play, but this just feels beyond disappointing and lazy.

genuinely confused how this isn't a full blown BANGA for ppl? like I'm so in.. tho maybe it's a case of I've waited so long I'll take anything

Same here.

I've had the main hook stuck in my head all day, so infectious. Just makes me wanna dance.
