Just noticed seems to be in the 80's, livehits has it at 86

What was looking like a very boring week for the chart last Friday is now shaping up to be quite decent.
How delightful not to see Justin Bieber number 1 on itunes.

Shawn Mendes is pretty much equivalent to him so I see no difference.

But not a given people will stream him though, esp. Given his demographic...

I stream practically all my music and he is my demographic ye young whippersnapper!

I think he'll do better in streaming than people think. His latest album had 7 tracks in the top 200 on spotify yesterday and they'll likely climb - not to mention there's a David Bowie playlist on the front page of spotify.

the album only has 7 tracks so they were all top 200

When was the date something other than Justin Beiber was ITunes no1? Christmas Day?

Au contraire. There might not be a lot of difference in the music but Mendes does at least sound sincere (and come across as such in the one interview I've seen of him.) With Bieber it just seems like music by numbers, he just turned up, saw the lyrics and sang the songs.

Even I'm getting a bit annoyed at Justin Bieber now - can WDYM? just get out of the top 10?

17 Justin Bieber What Do You Mean?

Early on the 25th, he overtook NHS Choir during the early hours.

Apart from a (yes, it really happened!) brief 36 hour spell that Louisa Johnson was #1 on iTunes in mid-December, the aforementioned 4-day spell and additional 24 hour period that NHS Choir held the lead, the last time he wasn't at #1 properly was 17th November when Adele was still just hanging on.

It was 8 or 9 yesterday night.

yes I have justice now lol

Hopefully these David Bowie songs will give us a good old clearout of some deadwood in the chart, so when his songs start dropping some new songs will start to climb.

Its funny how loads of people say they want long-running hits and now we have them, people want short hits.

Just goes to show the saying that you cant please all the people all of the time is right.
