January 11, 201610 yr Elvis is selling for just £5 in most supermarkets, which I imagine is helping him alot. Good sales for Bowie so far...I should imagine he will increase his sales quite abit through the week. Yeah I'd imagine a lot of Elvis sales right now are coming from supermarkets who are pushing it cheap as they assume it will probably struggle to sell at full price outside of the run up to Christmas so getting rid of stock left over. He isn't exactly going to be promoting it. I've never 'got' Bowie's music but it would be a nice send off him getting the #1.
January 11, 201610 yr Adele is past it, she just doesn't sell albums any more. She should take her money and retire. yeah 1-3 sounds like a flop coming from Adele. But she's made such a strong comeback "last" year, I guess her luck had to run out eventually.
January 11, 201610 yr The only way she can recover next week is to die. Even if she died this week, she wouldn't have enough days to outsell Blackstar. /kobbar
January 11, 201610 yr The "jokes" about Adele are simply hilarious.... Sadly it's the Buzzjack way to latch onto a quip as lame as that and hammer it into the ground for years.

January 11, 201610 yr Poor Adele flopping this week!! :cheesebloc: and about to be overtaken by that pop brat album - seriously, who wants a full album of that cheesy pop?! But I said from DAY 1 this album would be lucky to reach 3 mil and it would be great for it to reach that target!!
January 11, 201610 yr Michael, please refrain from the constant Justin hate, you've been asked before numerous times. (I'd have sent that via PM but your inbox is full)
January 11, 201610 yr Good to see some new entries in the Top 40 such as Ellie Goulding, X Ambassadors, Little Mix. Most will likely to be knocked out by Bowie though!
January 11, 201610 yr Craig David up to #12?! :o Granted streaming data is missing, but hopefully it means he'll get a top 20 placing come friday.
January 11, 201610 yr Michael, please refrain from the constant Justin hate, you've been asked before numerous times. (I'd have sent that via PM but your inbox is full) He's not me under an assumed name, really! :P

January 11, 201610 yr I think David Bowie's new album could now leap to MASSIVE sales. The fact it's a brand new release, that reflects on his life and death...it could get over 250K. I am saying that as a conservative estimate, too.
January 11, 201610 yr Yup, this is unprecedented as an artist's new release has never fallen on their death before. I think huge sales for this and a few weeks at no.1, including some weeks for a Greatest Hits. He might also get 7 weeks at the top and match Adele as sales are low and there aren't many new releases and 25 will probably drop to where 21's sales levels were at 20 weeks.
January 11, 201610 yr I'm not sure Blackstar will sell huge numbers, I think people want to remember his greatest hits, not dwell on his death and last fairly melancholy 'farewell album'.
January 11, 201610 yr Tbf joseph is rather defensive against tge justin beiber hate i seen otherz with other artist and not get even the tiniest amohnt of warnings :kink:
January 11, 201610 yr I think she's over. Someone is still funding Pixie Lott, I think Adele is safe.
January 11, 201610 yr The people who will go for Blackstar are the people who have a long relationship with his albums but who have perhaps faltered in the last few decades. Many of those will have multiple greatest hits compilations by him already and so will purchase Blackstar. The hard core left field fans will go for it too as it has had great reviews and an astonishing lead single in the title track. Edited January 11, 201610 yr by Colm

Please don't get involved.
