January 21, 20169 yr The Tracy Chapman original is by far the best and no useless dance cover will ever manage 0.0001% of its greatness. To be fair to Jonas Blue though, his version isn't nearly as bad as Sam Feldt's utterly horrific Show Me Love remake last year.
January 21, 20169 yr I love the original and it's by far the best version. I really like the Jonas Blue remixed version of the song though.
January 22, 20169 yr The original by Tracy Chapman is amazing but I voted for Jonas Blue. I find the vocals in Tobtok's version dull.
January 22, 20169 yr Original most definitely, so much emotion in that. Tobtok sounds pretty nice, interesting voice and has a good tropical house beat, I'm cool with that existing. Jonas Blue however, while it sounds fine, the beats are unremarkable and the vocalist sounds bored. File next to Felix Jaehn's Ain't Nobody in 'soulless dance covers that didn't need to happen' for me, I have similar feelings about that.
January 22, 20169 yr I'd forgotten about Mutya's version. :o Nice to be reminded of it again. Tracy's original is the best though!
January 22, 20169 yr An average song done best by Tracy Chapman. Never understood why it is so highly thought of (or so marketable).
January 22, 20169 yr An average song done best by Tracy Chapman. Never understood why it is so highly thought of (or so marketable). It's that sort of song that clicks with some people and others get very little out of. After the melody gets you the song writing shines though and the theme of going somewhere better connects with people. It's sad and hopeful at the same time.
January 22, 20169 yr Yeah, I guess so. I'm not the kind of person it clicks with...but then very few of the talent show staples do.
January 22, 20169 yr Mutya's version was just gorgeous. I could listen to it all day (and I think I did once at the height of her solo career). Props to Kristian Leontiou's version as well, I'm sad that didn't do better for him.
January 22, 20169 yr I've listened to both dance covers today and whilst they cannot even begin to touch the original, I wish there was the vocals of River with Jonas Blue's production. The proudction of Tobtok's is a bit jarring.
January 22, 20169 yr somebody please tell me what the heck is the purpose of this hype about Fast Car? Was it sang somewhere? Used in ads? However, I had to listen to some new versions, and I liked Tobtok's one. This transoceanic version by Jolyon Petch is okay. Jonas Blue is good in terms of soft beats, but vocals could be better... *to be honest, never liked Tracy's voice, maybe I don't understand something or just the song doesn't click with me* Edited January 22, 20169 yr by djgrafdemon
January 22, 20169 yr Of course the Tracy Chapman version is superior but my favorite is by Kristian Leontiou - It was on his 2004 album and then randomly charted at #88 in 2011.
