What a horrific number one. This year hasn't been the best for #1s so far (bar Pillowtalk) but this is too far.

The new chart is on Radio 1 earlier this Friday, 2-4pm, due to the finale of Greg's run or something.

:puke: yet another hideous 2016 #1 ~ '7 years' is such a blandfest

hoping, by way of a small crumb of comfort, that jonas blue  can overhaul zayn by friday~

good to see kygo  recovering after a stumble last week; fingers crossed tiësto/oliver heldens  can make the top40 this week :cheer:

i agree that the mos release strategy is absurd, surely it would make more sense to lend their name to a prominent spotify playlist rather than desperately trying to cling onto the past by holding releases back into oblivion?! <_< :nocheer:

I hope this means they play the top 30 in full

The full top 100 charts won't be revealed till the evening though

We know that. Same thing happened on Xmas Day when the #1 was announced at 1pm

This will be the worst set of #1 singles to begin a year that I can recall in a very long time. :/

They may as well all be the same song.

Cant understand how anyone can possibly hate 7 Years :???: Such a beautiful song.

Elton John Carpool Karaoke available to view, may give his Album a boost as well as repeat of Graham Norton Show tonight.
Come on lukas graham. Decent number one :)

I even prefer most of Sam Smith's singles to this. That's an indication of how bad I think it is.

My issue isn't with whether I hate it or not (in fact I find it vaguely passable, but definitely no better), it's the fact that there has been no variation in the #1s this year - anything from a different genre would be welcome, you know, anything that's not pre-pubescent whining over an acoustic guitar.

Good point. Hopefully either Riton or Sigala could buck that trend with house/tropical house sounds at number one :D

Harsh :o

but Lukas Graham has nothing to do with Zayn/Bieber or even Stitches, it's another thing 100% different, what does Bieber has to be with signer-songwriter???

Love Yourself in particular is what is meant. It's practically an Ed Sheeran song (well he did write it), and that's no bad thing for me. The #1s this year seem to be of a similar style but not similar enough to blend into one, or even close to that for me...

have* They're a band :P :D

I know, I'm from Denmark so don't be pedantic :D

the point is that the Zayn song vs. the Lukas song don't sound anything alike
