bjsc 189 | bleary eyed – heaven year
from the album easy (2025)

very few "get it" the way bleary eyed get it. the "it" being that shoegaze is pretty, yes, but it also makes you feel like you're vibrating down to your viscera. it makes you feel like you're floating and slamming repeatedly into a brick wall, simultaneously. there's blood pumping and a heart beating within all the haze. i'm a huge my bloody valentine head (hence my mbv gif spam of late), and yes every shoegaze band owes a debt to them, but bleary eyed took every lesson to heart. it's there in the sweetest melody you've ever heard, and in the chaos and distortion threatening to overwhelm it at every turn. it's transcendent, but more importantly it's exciting.

(album is incredible btw)

Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference
