By most measures our economy is already far stronger than the EU average - even moreso before the referendum. Interesting that you're setting such a low bar for "success".

The UK economy should be doing so much better, our economic growth has been limited because our economic model has been fitted around our EU membership. Once we're out of the EU hellhole in 2019, the UK will start to soar. I'm already looking forward to the UK-US trade deal by the end of 2019 and the UK's glorious future in the 2020's.

Didn't some economists recently say Britain would be 'booming' right now if not for Brexit?

The same economists that predicted economic armageddon and WW3 the moment the UK voted to leave the EU. The trust in economists predictions are at an all-time low, they're too politicised these days, especially the IMF. Ugh, the IMF are a disgrace.

What about the rich pro Brexit backers now telling people not to invest in the UK as it is 'not worth it' outside the EU?

Experts are experts for a reason. Gove is just another priviliged man born into power.

They predicted dire economic consequences after Brexit. We are already feeling the bite. WW3? No, but that Tory who looks like Mr Burns was pushing for war with Spain a few months after the vote...

Huh?

Foreign investment into the UK is at an all-time high, unemployment is at a record low. China has openly said to the British government they can't understand why there is this doom and gloom post-Brexit when we have so many opportunities open to the UK by leaving the EU.

What do you mean by "a record low"? Even if you ignore dodges like not counting people on zero-hours contracts, unemployment has at times been somewhat lower than it is today.

The rest of Europe thinks we are mad. Ah, but China says it will be OK. That's all right then.

1.) China has ACTUALLY said they are not interested in investing in a UK without the EU...

2.) No, 0 hour contracts are at an all time high, as is poverty, wage squeezing, a gig economy, and a huge concentration of wealth in the upper classes.

3.) I have no data on foreign investment, but latge companies are already considering and making moves to leave the country...

Put your money where your mouth is...

Make some actual predictions of this glorious future (in actual figures give or take 5%) and I'll bet you £100 vs what I think they will be in 5 years...

Should be £100 for nothing if you're so confident about it....

(PS David Davies has been saying that the 57 detailed Impact assessments they have been ordered by parliament to show and which he has spent a year bragging about having been detailed and put before the PM in a summary form, errr don't exist in that form after all. Seems like he's very desperate not to reveal:

a) how bad it is going to be, even from the mouths of Brexit supporters or

b) how little preparation they have done, and make themselves look like a bunch of thicky fools)

lovely graph. Shows how worse off we all feel (not including triple lock pensioners and rich people of course)
This is how the rest of the world ACTUALLY sees us, not how the Brexiters like to think they see us....

There's tough competition between the UK, Spain and the USA for the West's biggest political PR disaster of the last two years. I think the latter just clinches the title, not only because it's more important than the other two but also because Trump as the face of America is much more notorious than any individual politician that we have to offer. The bar was already pretty low with the USA though so perhaps the UK have suffered the biggest fall from grace.

That a surprising admission, most people here claim our economy is going to hell...

Relying on hearsay now?

You seem to be getting your tenses muddled. A statement that the economy was in a reasonable state before the referendum is not incompatible with a forecast that it will get worse.

No.

A quick google search would reveal countless sources for my post on China's reluctance to invest in the UK, its confusion over why we are pursuing Brexit, and the comments r.e rich Brexiteers advising people NOT to invest in the country, and this source, seeing as you asked for it:

Lol.

Yes, our economy IS going to hell in a handbasket, BUT it started of from a VERY good position THANKS TO OUR PLACE IN THE EU!!

No.

Ah yes, Mark Carney, just about the most Ardent Remainer around. That's like asking Nigel Farage if he thinks Brexit is a good thing...
