for a proper comparison, compare this Jess track (her 2nd post-album single) with Taylor´s 2nd post-1989 single, that would be Style, which did far better...

don't think you can compare 6th singles if one album has had just the 1 single before the album and the other has had like 4... it's like saying oh Sweet Nothing ws the 6th single off 18 Months and went to #1... sure, but it was still a pre-album single :D

You definitely can compare though. Both are very late in the campaign, from big selling albums. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make out Ain't Got Far To Go is a success, but all things consisered, it's not doing too badly. Sweet Nothing is quite clearly an exception anyway.

Jess' album has sold so much now, I think when it comes to 6th singles, they drive album sales more than anything. Performing a bit of the song on the Brits helped her potentially scrape the top 40, but nothing on the album would have been a huge chart hit at this point. Post-album singles are generally a much harder sell. There are exceptions, like Little Mix and One Direction with their first post-album singles hitting #6. But, like Joseph said, even Take Me Home wouldn't have peaked anywhere near as high had it not been a charity single.

Also, Style wouldn't have peaked as high if it were released now, given the fact streaming makes a much better dent on the chart.

For those wondering where Fleur East’s “More and More” (which is definitely not flopping because it isn't the impact week yet. GIVE IT TIME) it is not Top 200.

Well that was necessary

We have a midweek update coming, just deciding with Joe who's doing it :') seems like at least some iTunes sales from yesterday are missing though, just to warn you all.

Doctor blind do you know when the impact week for more and more is? Still no video! Supposedly going on Lorraine as was at the studios today!

Ps for anyone who is interested Fleur sax is 146 in United States and she starts her radio tour there sometime in April.

Erm i thought there was a video although for some reason the video is called Day in LA(More and More)

There's set to be a 3.5k-4k gap between The 1975 and Adele at the rate they're selling. Interestingly, neither are available to stream on Spotify (although the former will be added 11th March).

I don't have a problem with Fleur  It's just a light hearted joke, I didn't mean to offend you :D

@ mr_pmt :P

I think the deficit will be down to about 2-3k between Adele and 1975. In favour of 1975. but She's cut a 17k start of week deficit to 8K...Last day sales will be interesting.

I can see Selena Gomez pushing James Bay out the top 40 tomorrow, I hope she does. The 1975 now only 7.6k ahead of Adele. Hope they hang onto #1 tomorrow. I didn't expect Fifth Harmony to fall as they've climbed on both iTunes and Spotify. I can also see G-Eazy making the top 20 tomorrow once streams are factored in
