19. Ciara feat. T-Pain - Go Girl (44.44%, 12 votes)

 

With a whopping 44.44% of the votes and three times the number of votes as the song that came in second place, it appears it was time for 'Go Girl' to follow it's own instructions. The song was originally released as the lead single from Ciara's third studio album 'Fantasy Ride' (god knows why when the album was so strong) but due to scraping in at just #78 on the US Billboard Hot 100 the song saw itself relegated to the position of Japanese bonus track when the album was finally released. The track, which could be argued to be her most forgotten single, saw a new style for Ciara with the large use of autotune; a style that she has luckily never returned to. Although it may be forgotten, the song does hold a great video and could be said to have inspired subsequent R&B princesses like Keri Hilson to use a similar style ('Turnin' Me On' for example). Having said that, with such a great discography I certainly wouldn't say it was her finest hour.

Voted 'Promise' this time. Just re-listened to 'Go Girl' again and I actually regret voting for it now. :( (But this time I relistened to those songs that were in contention for my vote and 'Promise' was the clear choice for me!)

Wow “Go Girl” is totally forgettable, never knew it existed up until this poll and it was the right choice to go. But I do agree it does have a great video though. Went for “Never Ever” for this round, if that does go then others I’ll be gunning for will be “Ride”, “Gimme Dat” and maybe have to listen to “Sorry” again.
