 13. Light It Up (feat. Nyla & Fuse ODG) [Remix] - Major Lazer

This is certainly hanging around a lot longer than I thought it would :D

The music video for this song came out a few days ago.

'Light It Up' is a track I rather disliked initially, but it wormed its way into my brain. It's catchy!

'Stressed Out' on the verge of top 10, I knew this was coming. :( It's god forsaken HORRIBLE.

'Light It Up' obviously got released as a single because it sounded like 'Lean On'. You can't blame them after the single in between flopped.

I really like the African vocals on Light It Up, adds a nice exotic vibe to the charts. If Major Lazer want to continue the trend, they'd release 'Boom' next.

How's 'Cheap Thrills' doing? Has it benefitted much from being R1's TOTD?

#30 & #75. Around #21 combined.

"Don't Be So Hard On Yourself" climbing up to #41 for no reason. Shame "Ain't Got Far To Go" won't climb any further

It's not for no reason, it was performed by Jess on Saturday Night Takeaway, as was Hold My Hand.

AGFTG would go top 40 on Friday if she'd have performed that

Good thing that she didn't then.

"Boom" was slated to be the third US single, but it was replaced by "Light It Up". Both tracks received some spins there and it was initially opted for the former over the latter because it received more adds in a week, including a radio station from a major market, which I think it was New York. However, the latter kept receiving adds, while the former wasn't, so the change was done. Even, "Light It Up" entered at the Top 50 on the Mediabase CHR/Pop chart some days ago. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if "Boom" is the follow-up single.

What even is an "African vocals"? Whut

accent of African decent? It sounds more Caribbean to me, though.

Fuse ODG is an African artist and provides vocals on Light It Up, whereas Nyla is Jamaican. With regards to 'Boom', WizKid is African, Kranium is Jamaican and Ty Dolla $ign is American. Provides a nice fusion of vocals to my ears!

I was always surprised more African artists didn't capitalise on the commercial success of Fuse ODG a few years back.
