March 8, 20169 yr ALL of those songs are rather amazing tbh  Ranking them: 1. Too Little, Too Late 2. SOS 3. Unwritten 4. Before He Cheats 5. Buttons 6. Hurt They're all superb though *.*
March 8, 20169 yr Too Little Too Late and SOS were (are) some of my most adored songs in my pop phase, very good picks from 2006 guys. Unwritten is very good also, and actually, in a rare display of synergy, I'd actually give them all the same ranking as Joseph :o Maybe with SOS slightly ahead of TLTL, not sure which to go with there.
March 8, 20169 yr 'SOS' is my big highlight of the picks so far. For some reason it took YEARS for me to appreciate it, easily one of my RiRi faves now. That sample *.* LiLi - 1
March 8, 20169 yr "Hurt" is just an excellent power ballad, without question the shining moment in Christina's singles discography <3
March 8, 20169 yr Hurt is definitely her best I agree, although Fighter isn't far off. Both are in my all time top 40! Congratulations *_* Iconic.
March 8, 20169 yr SOS and Buttons are the best picks from that lot! Love how sassy Buttons is and SOS is great too although Rihanna's topped it multiple times which says a lot about her quality.
March 8, 20169 yr Yeah, Hurt is one of my favourite songs of all time too. I'm not always a Christina fan, but that song is SO stunning.
March 9, 20169 yr Wow, this is off to a strong start, those are all incredible. A great mix of songs as well but I am especially pleased to see Carrie here. :D I'd pick 'Unwritten' as the biggest classic of that bunch, one of those songs that seems like it should have been a huge #1. The commentaries are excellent!
March 9, 20169 yr Author 2007 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png Tim's Picks: "2007 was a great year for pop music with releases from Beyoncé, Rihanna, Fergie, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. My 2 faves from the year are from Pop Princess Rihanna and Country Queen Taylor Swift." Rihanna (ft Jay-Z) - Umberella http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png CvBfHwUxHIk In a pop countdown like this, Rihanna obviously can't be missed out. In 2007 she released the bop that was Umbrella, which solidified her as a pop force to be reckoned with. The Jay-Z assisted song spent 10 weeks at #1 and has some true legacy. A running joke called the "Rihanna Curse" was born. During its reign of the charts heavy rain, storms and weather warnings appeared in the UK, as well as New Zealand and Romania. In all cases weather conditions bettered after the song went off #1. In my opinion this remains one of Rih's best and is has aged amazingly well. It's iconic, flawless and blows some pop girls discography out of the water. I still bop to it from day to day and I regularly hear it on the radio etc. Taylor Swift - Teardrops On My Guitar http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png xKCek6_dB0M Teardrops On My Guitar remains one of Taylor's best songs ever. The country-pop song wasn't an amazing commercial success, but it was a longrunning hit. I discovered this song when my brother showed it to me and instantly fell in love with the song and had the biggest crush on Taylor. The modest vocals are what make this song for me. It's so sweet and in the chorus it completely blows up into the epicness that it is. Very well done Taylor, this should've been a worldwide smash. Cameron's Picks: "What a year 2007 was! It really was the year which made Rihanna a megastar and it was also the year The Saturdays were formed. This slayage!" Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png 7_weSk0BonM I feel as though this was quite a difficult choice. 2007 was an incredible year in music, but I knew I wanted to include a Leona song at some point during this countdown. To be honest it was always going to be between Bleeding Love and Forgive Me. I eventually decided to go for Bleeding Love because, I mean, it was absolutely massive. We all know that Leona is arguably the best act to ever come from the X Factor (sorry Directioners) which in all honesty is incredible. Leona has also became a Buzzjack icon within the last 10 years, and is apparently often seen at the race track galloping round it to ‘Run’ :kink: (Ok that was cruel, I am sorry, bye.) Leona’s vocals are out of this world on this track, the way she belts so effortlessly and the little quirks in her voice makes the song even more emotional than it is. In fact as I write this I am actually at the ‘You cut me open and IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII OOOOOOO NOOOOO KEEP BLEEDING LOVE, I KEEEEE-EEE-EEEEP’ bit. And yes, I did sing that as I typed it and just for your information, I nailed every note. ;) Shakira and Beyoncé - Beautiful Liar http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png QrOe2h9RtWI I seriously cannot express my love for this song. One of my all time favourites. Oh Beyonce, Beyonce, Oh Shakira, Shakira. Funny story, this was on the radio at work a few days and the 4 of us who were in the iamspamspamamiput on a full performance of it. But we all realised that everyone sings the backing vocals to this more than the main vocals. Can any of you guys back this up? Anyway, this song was absolutely massive at its time of release. 2 of the world’s biggest superstars on one track? Yes please. This collaboration was so unexpected and I think it really was one of the biggest female collaborations of the last decade. The video is incredible. I just had to stop writing this to watch the synchronized dancing where Shakira and Beyonce are constantly switching positions. Incredible. Just incredible. This track is also very fun to do on Karaoke in case you didn’t know. I am not too sure what else to write because I know I can waffle on and on and on about this song, and I really don’t want to be boring those of you who haven’t given up on reading this paragraph   Liam's Picks: "I’d say along with 2008, 2007 was my peak year for chart interest. I eagerly followed *that* summer that saw Rihanna hog the #1 spot for 10 weeks, and I still remember how gutted I felt that Kate Nash’s Foundations missed the top spot by just 16 copies It’s also the year I started to acquire more albums, not just singles, with Kate’s Made Of Bricks being one of the biggest examples. Kelly Clarkson’s My December is my favourite album from 2007, but it wasn’t until later I discovered that fact!" Kelly Clarkson - Irvine http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png doz7bEOOgpk This is one of the lesser known picks on my entire list, being an album track from an underrated album which sold 100,000 in the UK and 1,000,000 in the US, compared to 1.5 million and 6.3 million for the predecessor Breakaway. But I just had to include this, as it’s a contender for my favourite song of all time! The raw emotion of this song is unparalleled in Kelly’s discography; the acoustic instrumentation only serves to highlight her vocals and the heartbreaking lyrics. Written by Kelly at what she describes to be the lowest point of her life, the lyrics are a plea to God to help her out of her desperate, helpless pit. Needless to say, this is the headliner of my depressing playlist and my go-to sad song, without sounding too depressing this song is one of those brilliant songs that is so personal to Kelly yet also instantly relatable for anyone who’s ever felt like this. Beyoncé - Listen http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Hitcruiser/Third/SeparationLine.png 6MFjSOwIkH4 Keeping the tempo down is another underrated track – people seem to forgot how amazing this is from Bey! This is a stellar vocal performance that most pop girls couldn’t hold a candle to, although Alexandra Burke famously did in a duet with Beyonce herself on 2008’s X Factor final (which meant the song re-peaked at #8 in the UK chart, bettering the #16 peak it achieved in 2007). Listen is a classic huge movie ballad, which in the context of the film Dreamgirls is Beyonce’s character Deena defiantly leaving her manager behind for stating she is just his puppet and property via this powerful song, and is one of her best vocal performances ever (which is no mean feat). The one bad thing about this track is the countless horrendous talent show versions it has spawned from the likes of Malachi from Britain’s Got Talent and jahmene from X Factor, but we’ve also been treated to show-stopping renditions by Sarah De Bono of The Voice Australia and Melanie Amaro of X Factor US alongside the aforementioned Alexandra/Bey duet, so it’s not all bad!
March 9, 20169 yr Some very poor songs from some very good singers :( although Teardrops is lovely, original country version though.
March 9, 20169 yr My rank: 1. Beautiful Liar - one of my all-time faves  2. Umbrella - my favourite Rihanna song for sure, another all-time fave! 3. Bleeding Love 4. Teardrops On My Guitar 5. Listen - overdone on talent shows etc but a good song otherwise. 6. Irvine 2007 was an incredible year for pop music. So many other good tracks
March 9, 20169 yr Great commentaries again  1. Listen    2. Bleeding Love 3. Umbrella 4. Teardrops On My Guitar Taylor  5. Irvine 6. Beautiful Liar (The only one I don't like/love here) Those top 5 could be swapped in any order on a different day so for that reason for me: Liam- 2 Cami Li and Tim- 0
March 9, 20169 yr My Rank of 2006: 1. Unwritten 2. SOS 3. Too Little Too Late 4. Before He Cheats 5. Hurt 6. Buttons My Rank of 2007 1. Umbrella 2. Bleeding Love 3. Beautiful Liar 4. Irvine 5. Listen 6. Teardrops On My Guitar
March 9, 20169 yr Ooooh this'll be fab, excited to follow it. I'll be a lot more familiar with 2008 and onwards as that's when I really got into music but a lot I like already. 'Teardrops...' is fab and a highlight of early Taylor for me (although 'You Belong With Me' is the best imo )
