With the Sean Paul version coming this Friday and it getting a full week of sales/streams before impacting the chart, where do you think 'Hair' will chart next week (Friday 22nd April)?

ALSO considering its chart life as a whole, where do you think the song will eventually peak? Or do you think it has peaked already (at #35)?

Please comment in the thread too with more specific chart positions if you want to :D

I'll have to hear it first to be more specific, but I voted for a 6-10 chart peak!

I'll have to hear it first to be more specific, but I voted for a 6-10 chart peak!

We can all comment and revise our predictions once we've heard it :kink: but it will be good to predict now based on only HYPE and expectations.

I think it will eventually get a top 15 peak and *maybe* top 10 depending on promo they do for it, but i've gone for 11-20 for now to be safe. I think it'll get top 30 next week ~

I am thinking due to streaming it will chart around #40-#50 next week and then end up peaking around #22 or there abouts.

I would be thrilled to eat my words but I don't see it being a massive hit, even with a Sean Paul feature. Will do around the same as How Ya Doin' but with streaming effecting it slightly negatively.

iTunes #7

Chart #23

would be my prediction for next week

iTunes #4

Chart #9

Is my guess for it's overall peak, if they perform it on BGT

This was my specific prediction in the other thread, so yeah voted 21-30 next week, and 6-10 peak

I think about 26 (missing that chart play ) next week, but about 8 or 9 to be it's actual peak. Maybe something similar to Saturdays 'Higher'?

People are comparing it to 'How Ya Doin'' did a lot, but are forgetting that Little Mix are about 2x as popular now than they were then. Plus Sean Paul is more on trend now than Missy was at the time.

I can see it charting around #30 next week, and then #13/#14 eventually, but a BGT performance could push it top 10!

I think either just outside the top 10 or just inside, the new mix will help and they'll most likely perform on BGT.
Yeah, this is SO not How Ya Doin. They developed a huge amount of fans since then (Myself included) and Hair has a worldwide release.
I can see it charting at around #25 next week, and then possibly stalling/falling a bit after that. A Top 20 peak is possible in future weeks with a BGT performance though.
It could manage a top 40 re-entry around 35 but i would like to believe a top 15 peak is possible with some promotion.

I think next week it will chart at around the #30-#40 position (maybe) and when it's actually released I voted for #11-#20, because honestly I don't find it nowhere near as strong as the previous 3 singles and I would be very, very surprised if it outpeaked 'Love Me Like You' which only managed a #11 peak (deserved much higher). So I think a definite top 15 peak around #12 or #13 possibly. Or if it does manage top 10, then it will be at the lower end round about #8 or #9. I definitely don't think it will reach #1 or top 5.

I do like this song and it is a decent choice, but personally I would have preferred 'Weird People'. But going for something uptempo is definitely the smart move as they've already had 2 slower/ballad singles released already and another one at this point would be a bit much. I do hope that this does well though as hopefully we'll get at least one more single from this album as it's amazing.

Next week :

#29

Overall Peak :

#9 (after the BGT performance)

Next week about #18 due to lack of streaming.

Peak #6 if they time the video correctly.

If they don't get a tv slot (which is quite likely with the tour) it may miss the top 10. But my prediction is on the presumption of one good rated tv performance.

  • 2 weeks later...

So it charted at #31 (right?). Most of us were almost around right. One lower than I predicted.

I don't want to jinx it but I feel as though this could make the top 10 now, even without a BGT performance, which I'm fairly confident they might get.

It looks set for Top 20 this week and it's starting to get increased play on radio and music TV, so a BGT performance and a couple of interviews should easily get it into the top 10, maybe even top 5
