Adele is going to get knocked out of Top 5 for first time and Jess Glynne (and Bieber?) is going to be out of Top 10 for first time.

May be a bit premature to say Adele won't get Top 5, she is currently at number 7 with a chance to reel in 2 or 3 but will be behind Beyonce as well.

Jess Glynne surprisingly holding firm at number 9 and Bieber at 10 both borderline for Top 10 positions.

Beyonce at 2. Prince's The Very Best Of at Number 1 and Prince’s Ultimate (3), plus Prince’s Purple Rain OST (4) and Adele’s 25 rounds off the Top 5 as of Tuesday.

From OCC

so must have sold 20-25K?? minimum 18K, which is where Ultimate was on Mon mids

The fact Beyonce sold enough to get to #2 in one day means she's sealed the deal for #1 on Friday, I think.

So happy this album is a success for her.

Beyonce album update or something? :|

According to OCC, she is currently at #2. Gutted she's stopping Prince from dominating the top 5 albums. I'd rather she waited till Friday to stop Drake doing the double

What do you think? She will do it? The best album of 2016 deserve it for sure!
Wow at Beyonce selling ~25k (+/- ~5k)! *.* I have no idea what to expect in regards to what it will sell for the rest of the week but signs are currently suggesting it will smash the first week sales of BEYONCE. Can't remember the exact details for Rihanna's release but I think it's fair to say Beyonce's pulled off the 'surprise' release much better.

MUUUUUUUUUUUCH Better.

well, Beyonce put it on Tidal for 24 just for streaming not buying, and didn't give it away for free to 1 million people :D

will be interesting to see the exact sales, to see if she's closer to 20 or to 30K

Well Rihanna's was a 'surprise' release for 6 months at least?

It was still released out of the blue; we knew it was coming but little idea as to when. Same goes for Beyonce's album, that's why I put "surprise" in inverted commas.

I do think the fact Rihanna gave away her album for free for a whole week (without even needing to sign up to Tidal) really hindered her opening numbers.

Also gutted that it doesn't look like Prince will make it to number 1 in the Albums this week, it would have been a fitting tribute to an All-Time Great.

I agree on the earlier comments that a DEFINITIVE compilation would have probably had enough to make it (but the fact there are several compilations out there has not helped).

I can't help feeling there should have been more Tributes in the UK that would have been more in line with his Talent, I guess the fact his personality was an enigma and he was quite private meant there wasn't much material for Documentaries etc.

It was only a day and a half. It came out Wednesday night, went on sale Friday.

Anti wasn't surprise by any means. It was just a matter of the exact date when it was released.

Lemonade didn't come really out of the blue either, we knew about the HBO premiere at least a week ahead.

The release wasn't revealed in advance and didn't have the conventional approach to promotion the way other album campaigns have. We may have known they were coming at some point but they were still dropped on us out of the blue. I don't think there was anything on social media saying "just finished recording my album" or anything like that either. That's what I mean by 'surprise'.

I will be gutted if Beyonce beats Prince to number 1 this week. If this does happen i hope Prince and get the number 1 position in the coming weeks.

It's a possibility but the release schedule is finally picking up now with Drake next week, followed by Gregory Porter, Meghan Trainor, Ariana/Bob Dylan/5H/Richard Ashcroft and then Catfish and the Bottlemen. I imagine The Very Best of Prince will stick around like Best of Bowie did (Ultimate Prince will probably perform similarly to Nothing has changed.).
