April 27, 201610 yr I don't follow album charts much so I apologise if this is obvious. How many albums have made it to number 1 without any physical sales contributing to its weekly total? I am not sure if there have been any UK album #01's without any physicals at all before? I remember Frank Ocean managed to reach #02 on downloads alone but no #01's spring to mind.

April 27, 201610 yr I had a feeling someone had already hit #1 in the albums on downloads only but couldn't put my finger on who. Seems Beyonce will set the bar high for the most downloads without a physical in a week record, as well as being one of the highest weekly download figures ever.

April 27, 201610 yr Totally agree and especially as there was a version of "Lovesexy" available on Googleplay earlier in the week for 99p It's still there actually - obviously a pricing error because the whole album is one track. It's not one of his more fondly-remembered albums though.

April 27, 201610 yr 'The Life Of Pablo' will presumably chart when/if it is finally given a proper release. Not sure why it has not been allowed to chart just on its streaming sales anyway... The Chemical Brothers followed a #1 with an album that was not allowed to chart as well (and then got another #1 with the album after that one).
