April 29, 20169 yr Pleasant enough but nothing to get me off my seat exactly. The you parts are a bit too repetitive.
April 30, 20169 yr This is an utter jam. Hopefully it'll be the big summer smash it deserves to be. I love how it's the complete other side of the spectrum to 'We Found Love' and I actually think it works in it's favour, hugely. So feel good and care free <3
May 1, 20169 yr I'm confused as to why it is so important to people that a song "couldn't be sung by everybody". Like half of the hitsongs could be sang by a lot of people? I meant it as in that Rihanna just sounds like some generic session singer on this to me. I feel like it lacks a bit of personality which she is very much capable of bringing to a song. It's not bad by any means, I rather enjoy it, but it could've been better I think. Definitely glad it's not some We Found Love rip-off at least :heehee:
May 1, 20169 yr I'm not sure how I feel, I like the sound but part of me wishes that it was a little bit darker. Zara was originally meant to be on the song and she recorded the demo for it, I hope it leaks soon.
May 1, 20169 yr I like it, the verses, bridge/hook and production are really great and Rihanna sounds good on it. The 'you-ooo-ooh-ooh-ooh' chorus suits the subtlety of the track, as much as part of me wished for something bigger. As much as it's one of my favourite songs of the decade, I respect them for not putting out a We Found Love clone as I doubt that would have turned out welll.
May 1, 20169 yr It feels too lazy, any song that just repeats the same word over and over again as the chorus and has about 10 words of lyrics isn't my kinda song. The production isn't all that either, just Calvin Harria by numbers and sounds like it was designed to be catered for Capital FM.
May 1, 20169 yr I'm not hugely impressed by this. It's mostly "you-oo" over and over, and we know they're both capable of so much more. That said, I do enjoy it, but it's a bit of a disappointment considering who's involved.
May 2, 20169 yr I wasn't hugely impressed either on first listen, probably because of my high expectations. And because it's reminiscent of Thinking About You, which is like Calvin's worst song of the past 5 years for me. You know I love me a big breakdown. HOWEVER, maybe it's because I want to love it, I can't stop playing it. I've become quite hooked on it.
May 2, 20169 yr This is so breezy and wonderful and I disagree that it's "typical Calvin". It's a shame some people aren't latching onto this the same way, but it's fast becoming one of my faves of the year. Also, I think Rihanna is instantly recognisable on this, so I also disagree with the comment that this sounds like it could be anyone.
May 2, 20169 yr I am also another one that doesn't see how this track is anything but generic, but I prefer it to Work.
May 2, 20169 yr considering 'thinking about you' is pretty much my favourite calvin harris song i am SO into this now
May 3, 20169 yr I really like this, it's just disappointing that it wasn't something more revolutionary after We Found Love.
May 4, 20169 yr This is so addictive but if it wasn't with Rihanna I wouldn't care for it at all. She should've featured on HDIYL which is actually a tune and a half.
May 6, 20169 yr This is pretty banging really. I do think I prefer We Found Love but the ooh bits are extremely catchy and it sounds phenomenal when loud and sunny. A bit gutted it probably won't be a #1 due to Drake, he's had his time. I know Calvin's videos are usually dreadfully boring as well but I think this deserves at least a semi-interesting one, hopefully with plenty of Rihanna too.
May 6, 20169 yr I'm not hugely impressed by this. It's mostly "you-oo" over and over Too much of "you-oo", it's true :D
